Default the spin of a turbo

ok, before i ask the ? let me give you some background on what i was talking about when this came up.
i was talking to a person i know. i told him my idea for a HMT setup. (i even gave credit to the site ) i told him i looked at a turbo that was on a dodge daytona (i didnt know if i would use it, in fact i just wanted to know what kind it was) ok. now get this, he said. "the turbo is on the back of the engine, it wouldnt work on your car because it would spin backwards and cause a wacuum in the intake."
hmm. i didnt know what to say to him at the time, but.. are exhaust gases bias as to which way they come out the car and go into a turbo. "oh no, i am not going in that turbo, no way, it is on the front of that honda, it should be on the rear of a dodge, i am turning around"... i am curious if they will do that or not??
i mean, when i thought about it, the exhaust only goes one way, out, whether it is towards the front of the car or the rear.. any replys to this person i know??

A turbo does the same thing no matter which side of the gnien it's on. Uses the exhaust flow to compress air into the engine via a compressor. - Matt

yeah, i found out later that it wouldnt matter which way the turbo sat, as long as the exhaust powered it. (he asked me this Q just after i started reading about turbos) i didnt know what to say to him, i thought he may know what he is talking about, but soon after i realized he dont

Matt, if that's the third dumbest thing you've ever heard, what's two and one?

The second one being:

'Phone rings, "Hello?" "Hey Matt, dude I think I just broke my cam!" "Broke your cam?" "Yeah, like in half!" :hesitates: "No wait, I'm just out of gas." .... and the dumbest thig I've ever heard was from Britney Spears herself, " I really like touring, I like going to overseas to places like Canada." - Matt
