Default Speeding Ticket Fighters - Educate Me On How To Fight It

Im basically trying to save money and cover my *** because I dont think a traffic ticket lawyer for the small fee they charge will represent my best needs and fight the ticket to nothing.
Heres the story that I wrote out to fill out a form, read it if you please

Hi,

Im looking for some legal respresentation for this ticket I recieved quite a while ago. The ticket is for 120km/h in an 80km/h zone. I was travelling towards Acton from Milton on REG RD 25 on Sept 17th, 2005. Sunday afternoon (1:55pm) and it was fairly sunny. I was travelling in a fairly long line of traffic following a large truck hauling a piece of heavy equipment, the truck was appx 4 cars infront of me with regular distance inbetween the cars and there were plenty of cars behind me at a close range. The pack of cars was travelling at about 90-95km/h, speeding yes but knowwhere near what i was ticketed for.

We were going over a hill and an unmarked police car came over the hill and pretty much passed me when we both reached the top of the small hill, but big enough for me to lose sight of him within 2-3 seconds. Didnt think anything of it, 60-90 seconds later I seen the unmarked car coming back in our direction with his lights on, he was travelling in the oncoming traffic lane passing the cars behind me, we all started pulling over singe file, Im assuming everyone thought he was passing. 1 car stopped about 40meters behind me, complete stop and I stopped aswell.

Well the officer pulled right behind me, I dont know why I was the one that was targetted, my truck is a completely stock black 1991 ford ranger. He promptly was out of his car and at my window and asked "Why were you in a hurry?", I said no hurry and handed him my cards without him asking. Thats all the was said and he went back to his car, he was in there for less than 2 minutes, fastest tickets writeup ever, you can tell by the legability of the ticket I scanned. He handed me the ticket in less than 2 minutes from start to finish and said have a nice day, got in his car and sped off (very quickly) back in the direction he originally passed me going.

He didnt take notes I know it, he wasnt in his car at all. I already had a court date on Jan 31st but he showed up, I was hoping he wouldnt and it would be dropped, so I asked for an extension to retain counsel. The ticket points alone will destroy my driving record as I am only 19 and have a G2 liscense and I am under my own name paying $3600/year for this truck saving for school this next coming year.

Im hoping to at a minimum get this ticket reduced to 10 or 15 over, which I will admit was the speed I was travelling over the limit, no points though and hopefully my insurance wont jump.

I have pretty much read many many threads on these Xcoppers and the sort and people that fight the tickets for you and make a guarantee to reduce it (which I cna do myself and the only guarantee 3 points) or you get your money back. Anybody can get it to 3 points without even going to court thats easy

What I wanna know is how to fight this ticket, how to a prove this cop wrong and how do I beat this ticket to nothing or at most to a 15 over ticket which here in Canada is ZERO points.

I most definetely am going to file for disclosure on my own on Monday, Im not completely sure what I have to write down though? Am I just typignt his out of my computer and writing my name and the ticket number and the information i am looking for? Has anyone ever done this?

Where abouts do i send it? Local police enforcement? (where I was pulled over?)

I think I want to fight this myself because I dont honestly trust that any company will fight my ticket as best they can for only $250, but I am also scared that I do not know the law well enough and will not be able to prove my case

I really dunno what would make this case a lack of evidence case, to me, he just heard my exhaust, sounds loud, assumed I was speeding.

If his notes and everything I request show that he just assumed my speed (and he only seen my for 1-2 seconds and my radar detector didnt go off, I know I cant use that in court) I dont think he got me on radar because of the short time we could see eachother and due to the fact that he was going in the oppostie direction, never told me what my speed was.

---- I got so many questions it aint funny

Any info you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated, hell if you help me a good deal with generic info and specifics I will pay you, not a problem, but I need to beat this ticket.

that fact that you are thinking a lawyer wont do you any good is retarded.
spending a few hundred now ona lawyer could passibly save you thousands on your insurance over time. think about it as an investment

I will not pay this ticket, its 4 points and my insurance will be dropped

I was not speeding this fast, he did not catch me on radar going this fast and Im looking on how I have to prove this to a court in order for the ticket to be dropped, i dont know what facts they need for the ticket to be dropped

Im not syaing a lawyer wont help me, im not talking about a lawyer, Im talking about those people who fight traffic tickets only, they charge $250 and they make a guarantee on what they wil get for you. The lowest they guarantee is 3 points, I can walk in myself and plea bargain it to 3 points befor ethe court even starts by telling the prosecutor i'll plead guilty to it

have you guys ever foughten a ticket?

I was leary about hiring these traffic ticket people because they only guarantee 3 points, they dont charge very much so whats in it for them to actually try and find the holes in the cops case and prove him wrong and actually even read my story? They can walk in get the 3 points, get paid and leave, can I trust them to fight the whole thing as far as possible?

Thats what Im scared of

have i ever fought a ticket

lets see, i have 18pts on my DL and i have taken 2 driving classes that took 10pts off, i might have a LITTLE knowledge about this

trust me, even though you werent going as fast as he said, the judge will never never ever believe you over the cop w/out a lawyer.

here is alittle story. I went to court with my lawyer. there was a total of 16 cases that day. 8 cases were with my lawyer and the other 8 they were trying to defend it themselfs. Those people that tried to defend it themselfs were up frist for the most part and the judge pretty much did not budge on any one of those guys. my lawyer walked up there with his 8 cases spent about 30seconds of speaking and the judge dropped all 8 cases. Get a lawyer buddy. you will save thousands in the longrun for 250-300 dollars. If you in seattle area i can put you in contact with Mitch Green who i always use.

Lawyer or one of these traffic people?

Chances of it being dropped based on my case?

The only thing Im worried about is that the ******* will drop it down to 3 points and wlak away, if they only guarantee 3 points, why would they try and fight for my best interests? Understand what Im saying?
