Speed Bleeders FTW
I recently had to put a new master cylinder in a mustang i got, and i bought speed bleeders for each corner. Cost $16 for all four. I was able to bleed all four corners out in under 15 min, and the pedal is great. Great to use when you don't have a extra person to help you. Two thumbs up.

You don't need another person to help, you just put a water bottle with a little brake fluid and a vac hose in the bottle, and connected to the caliper.

Ya def a thumbs up for speed bleeders here.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
Speed bleeders rule.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
anyone have a link to the guy who was using an air compressor to bleed?

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
Anyone try bleeding a t56 in a camaro or corvette? Worst design ever.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
what is a speed bleeder? is that the power bleeder that you hook up to a air compressor? you could just do a gravity bleed too, open up the screws poor fluid in and go eat some lunch.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
I'm talking about the guy ho used normal bleeders but hooked an air compressor with a spare reservoir to the master cylinder

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
That's interesting. In fact, I think I remember the thread linked to on HT.
You think that'd strain the seals in any unwanted way? |
Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
depends on how much pressure you set the regulator to. the only think i'd worry about is the reservoir on the master cylinder blowing off or cracking.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
Cracking? I thought Toyotas got good Nissin stuff that wouldn't do that.

Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
front brakes have around 250psi with a good pedal stomp and the rears are around 150psi. the only worry you would have would be messing up the reservoir. but you really only need about 20psi to bleed brakes. i have bled brakes with a big tank of fluid and an air compressor plenty of times. i have always done it backwards though. they make fittings that will connect with the bleeder. then you pump the fluid backwards. you can get an old cap and put a fitting in it with a hose and let that dump into another container.
i hope all of that makes sence |
Re: Speed Bleeders FTW
Speed bleeders are bleeder screws with a built in check valve. Open the bleeder screw up 1/2 turn, pump breaks, fluid comes out and the valve doesn't let air in. You can do a corner in a min or so. www.speedbleeder.com I bought mine at the local parts store for cheaper, but same concept.

I use air to bleed brakes with this bad lil bitch... Thats what i use at work to flush and bleed brake systems......works tits on cars with abs also.comes with an additional resevior u place on top of the master cylinder that keeps the brake fluid topped off so you get no air pockets. cost me about 160 i think.....but with all the brake flushes i did last month it paid for itself already. using air to bleed brake = ftw! :6 |
