WE'RE GETTIN' SOME RAIN!!! I washed my car at like 3
0 or so this afternoon hoping to bring it on, and sure enough when I pulled my car into the carport at about 80, it started like 2 or 3 minutes later...Now it just needs to keep up for like 2 or 3 more days...

Well, figured I'd update it...The fires have been burning this entire time, it was smokey outside EVERY morning last week. BUT hurricane season started this past week and there have already been 2!! tropical storms. We saw 2-3 inches of rain Saturday from this latest one, TS Barry...Hope it helped with tha fire...Either way it was the first REAL rain we've seen in AT LEAST 2 months, so we needed it...

When we were in Nashville like the middle of last week. You could actually smell it and it gave the city a nice hazy look. I woke up that morning and was watching the news and they were talking about the fires and all the smoke from it. Then they said that there would be a smokey look and I didn't believe it but sure ----. It smelled like a campfire downtown but not very strong but you could smell it.

I read an article earlier and they were sayin' that the rain didn't put out the fires but it definitely helped, and should cut down on the constant smokiness(was rollling in every morning and evening here for AT LEAST the last two weeks)...they said that in places the fire had actually burned 5 FEET into the ground(peat moss is good fuel evidently)...that will take quite awhile to completely extinguish, but this weekend was a start...
