Some michigan Track vids... A friend's impressive cavy.

Hey guys thought I would give an update on whats going on... which isn't much.

Main thing I wanted to share was an accomplisment from a fellow jbody owner. He has a similiar setup to the one that I had on my sunfire. Anyways enjoy

Please right click and save as... that was Jeff's cavalier. Run was made at 10 psi, which makes me wonder what I would have ran with that same turbo at 10 psi (what blew mine at). I never did make it to the track with that thing arg....

That was me with my 02 cavalier ls sport... No its not boosted but the times will drop when it eventually is. I'm happy with the times I ran though with it being almost stock. Intake, lower engine mount and a short shifter along with some heavy 17" wheels.

Also the person who bought my turbo setup off of my sunfire was at the track. I've seen him run better (14.4@95) on 6 psi. He'll be upping the boost once he gets a new fuel pump :)

Anyways enjoy... I'm anxious to boost mine, hoping to do so sometime this summer.

13.1, pretty dam good on street tires (I assume)
Looked like he's able to pull some good 60-ft's to only trap at 106, but hit 13.1.
Nice work

He made 240whp I believe. My setup is similar to his with the exception that i'm using the rebic instead of emanage. Nice times nonetheless.

That was at Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, probably my favorite track in MI. I'll be at Milan this wednesday, weather permitting.

Yeah he was on street tires, Azenis I beleive with a 1.9 60 ft if memory serves me right. He's definietly a good driver, and only seems to improve every year.

Re: Some michigan Track vids... A friend's impressive cavy.

I swapped the small dodge turbo on it for a T3 48/60 50 trim and upped the boost to 10 psi. I either broke a ringland or put a hole in a piston. I have yet to tear it down but I plan on fixing it sometime this summer. I sold the turbo kit to the cavalier sedan in the third video you saw, the second video was my new cavalier.

I wanted something with a manual trans and to start over with more of a performance outlook opposed to body work. I just finished some suspension work on the cavy because autocross season will be starting next month.

The cavalier:

Current mods are an intake, lower engine mount, short shifter, eibach sportline springs, koni yellow struts, addco rear sway bar, wheels and tires from the sunfire.

The sunfire will be sold this summer after the engine is fixed. That will also be part of my funding for whatever boost setup I go with next.
