Some Dyno numbers from your HMT Sunfire

Well I'm not overly impressed but this was a very basic dyno. It was like a mustang dyno someone had brought to campus.

Anyways I coudlnt get any torque numbers or rpm beceause of my distributorless ignition.

Also no fan on the intercooler or water which I'm sure would have made a difference, basically a non-intercooled run.

She put 170whp down at 6 psi on this dyno

http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0RwAfA...69303109036718

This was more for fun than anything, it was only $40 which is cheap in michigan for any dyno time at all.

Basically you sped up to 55mph and did a pull up to 100. I had to ease into the gas becasue I'm an auto otherwise it would downshift but I can say it was definitely a good time. Lots of people there watching from school

I made one more run trying to turn up the boost and did so too far.... It cranked to 15 psi in like 2 seconds and I let off. Everyone said that sounded sweet as hell though :)

Good numbers too btw...

Nice for on a mustang dyno, I 'm sure you know that those are way underrated compared to dyno jets. No telling what a dyno jet would have rated you at.

Yep I remember you guys. I remember your friend blowing that diff I wondered what had happenend. I assumed it was at least a half shaft. Tell him not to rev that hard next time, that wheel hop is what killed him.

I was running decent that night you guys should have said hi....you parked over in the grass in your own little world lol.

Anyways thanks for the props guys, I think with air on the intercooler it would have helped a ton.... Seems like everyone was running lower hp than they expected. GTP's were only putting 180hp down with a few mods.

Nice numbers. It's funny how your competition(that Z24 ricer guy)is putting down 654whp at only .75psi. Why is your car so weak? ???

Stock HP on a 2.4 like matts and mine are 150 crank hp. Seems to add up about right to me with 6 psi.

I mean no offence to matt but before turbo we ran similiar times at the track and our setups are somewhat similiar as well. His compessor housing is slightly larger and he's running a different intake manifold than me.

His numbers for 3 psi are higher than anyone I've ever seen I'll still stand that something there was fubared. Maybe the dyno was miscalibrated or his car had more boost than he thought. He should be hitting the track soon that will tell all.

The numbers would have been higher with at least something on the intercooler. This was outside...no fan no water, nothing at all. From my track times and the weight of my car i should be getting between 180 and 200whp, which is probably about right anyways. I'll get a real dyno slip this summer with some more boost and a better fuel setup.

Re:Some Dyno numbers from your HMT Sunfire

i dont get why my numbers were so high either, but it was deff only at 3psi of boost. gauge has been tested numerous times and proves accurate every time. only thing i can think of is that the mani, larger t/b really helped let in more air, plus, jon you're running a smaller t3 with .48/.42 a/r's. ive got a larger compressor and wheel. t4 .60 a/r compressor and a 51 trim t4 wheel. plus, i was intercooled and you say they didnt use a fan on yours. ----, maybe your gauge is broken for all we know?? maybe you weren't quite at 6psi like you though... idk... you said you spiked it to 15psi on accident for like 2 second and for only having an fmu and injectors at that time, id think 15psi should have either blown your engine, or would have bogged like a ----------er since your pump cant push past like 70ish psi of fuel. i know i was bogging when my stock pump was maxing out. who knows what the reasons were, but i know for a fact, i was only at 3psi when those runs were done and ive posted the graph before as well. track is this wed, so assuming i can figure out whats up with the crank/cam position sensor malfunctions, i should get some times. by next wed (second time ill be goin to the track with the turbo on), i should have the boost up. i got my s-afc hooked up a few days ago, so now i just need even bigger injectors and i should be good. jon, if i were you, id take it to a real dyno and see what it says.

dr. boost- thats not very nice to say bout the HMT cavy guy :-\
