Yah, give us details about head/gasket and transmission mojo. No one I know has ever heard of a serious Cavalier, I think it'd be pretty sweet to roll out and take people's money in one.

That is not true at all for this motor. Technically, the quads stopped in 95 (2.3) and the 2.4 took over from there, which is what I have. The 086 (high output) head flows awesome and can rev to 7400 i believe in stock form, but those motors blow headgaskets like no tomorrow. A lot of people throw those heads on the 2.4 blocks making sort of a hybrid deal, but it raises the compression through the roof. 11.7:1 from the stock 9.5:1. So in order to do that, I would have to run dished pistons to obtain a still high compression of 10.5:1 or something. I just decided to skip all that bullshit and build the 2.4 head. Its got 086 cams, springs, and retainers. Stainless valves, bronze guides, 3 angle valve job, and ported to high heaven with an intake mani josh is gonna build me using velocity stacks, 2.5 runners, etc., oh and a 75mm ls1 tb. Headgaskets are not really an issue. I'll be running a .074 cometic gasket. The stock 2.4 oiling system sucks dick, plain and simple. The 2.3 oiling system is pretty stout, so I did what a lot of guys do and did a 2.3 oiling conversion. Not something I could have done myself and took the machinist 8 hours, but well worth it. Transmission is a stock izuzu tranny with cryoed 2.2 gears. 2.2 gearset has a shorter 1st, 3rd, and 4th gear. Think of it as b16 ratios for you guys lol. Also got my hands on a set of axles off a stock high output car. Those stock axles have held something like 600 ft/lbs 1/4. All that on some 15x7 motegi trak-lites and 26" MT slicks.Suspension consists of koni reds, and ground control coilovers. Tuning with hptuners, basiclly just a run live program such as uberdata or chrome. Oh, for a turbo kit i'll be running an sc61, tial 38mm, 3" charge pipes, and some sort of crazy turbo mani. I think that about covers it, any more questions just ask.

Pete, it's nothing more than an name change due to the OHC tainting it. If it were really different, Quad parts won't bolt to it ;)

Did you break the governor? Otherwise you'll be jammed at 108. Ask Spyhunter

is that why the whole displacement, head, block, and oiling system is differnt? Pretty sure i Just named all components of the engine ;). Yes I already disabled my governer. Thats how I blew up my stock block setup. 5th gear pulls own me :1
