SOHC rat motor. The hatch is being reborn
So I decided I'm just going to throw some ---- together and get my hatch up and running. I found out today that my tranny isn't the 89+ 20 Spline tranny I thought it was. Of course, I got the bastard 88 tranny with the homo 21 spline shaft. This god damn car is killing me. I spent like 2 hours cleaning the ---- out of that damn thing today and when I went to slide an old clutch on(just for ***** and giggles)it didn't fit so well. That's when I counted the splines and son of a bitch. Some sheep ****** swapped an 88 tranny in my 89 hatch.
I sure did get fucked on this car. 
It's going to be a while before I can get another tranny, a new clutch, and whatever the ---- else I find out I need, so I'm just going to slap this ---- together and cross my fingers.
I just want my ------- car to move on it's own power. Is that too much to ask? 
So my new motor consists of a Z6 block, A6 head, A6 intake, and an 88 tranny. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have it up and running, but I'm sure I'll run into some sort of fucked up situation and it won't happen. This car has a curse. I think one of the previous owners died in it and is haunting it or something.

I thought mating a Z6/Y8 block to an A6 head dropped compression to like ------- 7.8:1
Im in the same boat on the tranny man. I really hope I get sent the same one as what I have or Im truly fucked

Yeah, SSautoshit manifold. It was free and I don't know what else to run without spending $4983 so I'll run this until it breaks.....which shouldn't be long.
According to the compression calculator I should be at ~8.6:1 compression. I'll just run a few extra pounds to make up for it.....

the old preludes have the same spline count as the 88 civics (95% sure of that), but the clutch disc is 212mm, just like 90+ d series. so you could use a 90+ pp and flywheel, and a prelude clutch and not care what year your tranny is...
