you really want something with a leaf spring rear end........put those stupid swimming noodles inside your tires so they don't run completely flat when they get crushed.....f the rad....one good front end hit and it is toast.....weld one thick bar behind the drivers seat.....if your real into it remove the body and reweld te factory welds....toughens it up real good(some derby rules frown on this).......and if you want a indestructable cr find a old galaxy wagon or a imperial.....they are good body wise for at least 4 or more derbies

they dont allow the full frame, pre-crumple cars according to what tim told me. i suggested the same thing. can't do bracing to these cars either, apparently

crappy those galaxys and imperials are the ------- ----...so i guess no filling the frame with concrete ...but i know they are a unfar advantage and most of the derbys i go to are startig ot make them illegal.....alot of them are going to cars from the 70's....been thinking of buiding a sub compact for a derby but i've been making some headway on my civic and don't want to put the time into a derby car now

unibody cars excel at a 'stock car' demo derby

Almost didn't make it cause I cut the brake lines accidentally thinking they were the fuel lines :1
Spent a few hours and a couple trips to the auto store to fix that one.

they split it up into 3 classes. 70's 80's and compacts that had under a certain wheel base. It kicked ***, I managed to get through the first round after the last car in the top 4 blew a tranny line moments after the wire fell off my distributor. The top 4 of each round got to continue to the next round.

In the feature event I almost got rolled by a station wagon, and got pinned on a dead car pretty quick so that was disappointing. It still kicked *** and I can't wait to do it again. This car is toast but I may know where to get another one already.

I know this post is worthless without pics, but I'll update with pics and vids tomorrow.

Maybe mount a .50 cal turret for the "icing on the cake"?

Default UPDATE! Picks of Demo aftermath no 56K

Stripping an 82 we couldn't get the rear windshield out, damn glue was so hard and old it broke every wire we tried to use on it. We had to come up with a new idea...
WD-40 and a lighter. Melted the glue and came right out

Car stipped; banded; battery and gas tank relocated; wiring reduced to battery, toggle switch, alternator, starter, and push button; Basically ready to be destroyed.

Entering the arena

How my front looked after the making it through the heat. They take the top 4 cars, my dizzy wire fell off as the 5th car but the 4th car blew a tranny line seconds later so they took me.

This is how she looked from the side, the *** end was bending down pretty hard, frame pushed into the rear wheels and the quarter panels were in the rear tires. It still ran so I was ready to ---- someone up

I only got a couple good hits in, 1st one really fucked up my *** end. Then someone cleaned my clock from the passenger side. I barely got it started and moved out of the way as he came back to do it again, but he got hung up on my bumper and we were both out. ------- sucks that it drove out of the arena after. Oh well to the scrap yard on Monday.

These doors were done in one hit. It really fucked me up.. hurt bad, pushed the side in at least 6 inches and shattered the windshield
