I guess it depends on the engine driving it... Example: the guy i got my manifold from used to have a 92 civic hatch CX! I have never heard a worse sound in my life than when he drove by w/header->test pipe and nothing else. Made me want to kill his engine. But on the other hand when my buddy removes the exhaust off of his srt4, it snarls and pops like a real mans engine. jimmy's STI is another one that makes me envious w/o exhaust... that's one deep sounding engine.

srt's pop with thes stock exhaust. their is no way in hell your car sounds like a v8. not even moving slowly at a low rpm which is where its at its deepest tone. you beat a 16 second car. whoopty doo mang

the worst sounding engines IMHO are b16s

high revving + small displacement + inline 4 = OH MY GOD PUT A MUFFLER ON THAT THING.

Hmm....a 540. That's got the 4.4L V8 spec'd at 282HP (290 for 2003 models) with 325lb-ft/tq. Versus your little 1.6 with I(rice)/H/E(rice)......cha....right....

When you start to break it down, the many different flavors of v8s sound all different. SBF have that isometric header design that gives them that distinctive sound, chevys sound different, a chevy with a radical cam sounds much different then a sbc with stock cam. The newer 5.3 litre chevy v8s sound much different then the prior generation of 350s with vortec heads.

why are you guys argueing about the sound his car produces? Who cares?!? He says V8, maybe he connects V8 = loud. Especially if he lives out near brampton, those hicks and their detroit muscle.

when I sayd that the car sounds like a V8 I ment loud!, and TekPhobia last time I checked a b18b is a 1.8 L not a 1.6 L and who ever sayd that my car has 155 hp is wrong cause I dynoed the car and it has 168hp lol thank you wery much... and yeah wthat the hell? I just tot Id share a small story and the whole forum is up my *** about how my car sounds?...
