Car belonged to a good friend of mine and he recently sold it.Most of the races were on a stock sidemount intercooler and a 14b.He ended up makig close to 300hp on a fmic,stock longblock,14b,and a 50 shot.Most of the better races he had were when we didnt have the camera.I taped a couple and rode shotty when he beat all the 12 sec ls1's(the darker races).He's out of racing and so am i (for now) and i thought i would share.

Sweet ride. These are essentially the same as Metro's, correct? I've seen a few around but haven't seen them up close.

No the mirages are the same as dodge colts.You can do a 1g dsm turbo harness swap or look for the ultra rare turbo models if you want one.The 4g63t bolts right in.

There's on in Tampa, FL, the guy did an AWD Eclipse GSX convertion, swapped everything in, everything bolts on except for of course the rear parts. I think it was a 95 Mirage 2 door.

Drove up to one of the track events, no one knew anything, didn't look that fast, no roll cage, no helmet, nothing. Then the guy runs a 10.99.....he got kicked out of the track, but it was definately funny to see. I guess it wasn't stock, but it did look stock.

What about wiring? I've always thought of getting an older Mirage and dropping the FWD 4g63t. The older Mirage hatches I think came with a 4g61t, but it's pretty much the same engine.

is this car in florida, I'm checking autotrader and there's one there, same color/rims, and it says it's turbo, and did he really just sell it for $2,000, damnit, I would have been all over that thing.

it's a 4g63 not a d16, so it is possible, but at 17psi that 14b was alreadt pass it's efficiency range. Pop in a better turbo and just smile....

I have a donor turbo eclipse, I could either get free or cheap, I wouldn't mind doing something like this if I can get a cheap mirage. I'm talking $500 or less cheap mirage.

Gotta start looking into this, just to be different.

I think everything that the 4g63 bolts into looks like pure ass. It's pretty sad when the only way you can beat rwd cars is do it from a roll on.

When I hade my metro I doubt a b16 or even a d16 could fit in there. Those 3 cylinder 1.0L engines are pretty tiny. You can hold the heads in one hand.

No but the metro is the same as the suzuki swift gt and those had 1.3l twincam 4cls in them, 100hp i think. I have a metro and looked into alot of swaps for it and that seemed like the only easy one. I did however see one online once that had a carbed zc in it lol. They also had factory turbo metros in canada that had the 1.0l 3cyl and a tiny ass rbh3 turbo 75 or 80 hp i think.

The metro is pretty much useless even is you swap the Suzuki 3cylinder 1.3 DOHC engine in it. The car blows even with the turbo firefly or spring engine in it. The car sucks plain and simple.

there was a older guy up here at the local track in liechester ny he had a 4g63 swap with alky injection and like 21-22psi in that thing HOLY CRAP! it moved. the slicks looked like somebody took a chainsaw to them and tore em up badd. he was running like low 11's I think and mostly due to traction problems spun for a while in 2nd with slicks. lol this guy was in his 60's probably.
