Put on some hood dampers...they work really good, and I love not using a hood stick anymore, check it out.

Excuse the pics, I had my camera on manual mode, woops

Don't tell me you paid for Tein Hood Dampners!!!

Oh Well. I was going to make some out of some old hatch struts I had from a Nissan but they have WAY to much strength and bowed the hood!

Re: Silly Little Modification to the SI today

I wanted to do that, cuase the hood prop always gets in your way when your working on the car, how much did it cost you to do that?

Re: Silly Little Modification to the SI today

That's really slick, who cares if it is a little ricey...atleast it has some function too.

CRXDrew 02-28-2006 12:08 AM

Re: Silly Little Modification to the SI today

well... not really rice IMO. European cars have these quite often. If they were black they wouldn't seem like you were trying so hard.

*putting this on the list of things to do*

Maybe I'll raid all the junkyards and make some bracket.. sell em on HT for half the price of the competition, complete with fruity green paint.

cheap ebay knockoff, not really an option for "choose your color"

That is a great idea as it will get the hood prop out of the way.I might have to do that.

Re: Silly Little Modification to the SI today

did you remove the "hood stick" and shave it's mounting holes? :1 :P

samson 02-28-2006 08:03 AM

Re: Silly Little Modification to the SI today

Take some pics of the mounting and all. You could cop old dampners of a junk yard whip and do it. Did you buy this kit though?

I don't quite see the "rice" factor... it has its purpose and looks like it does it well.

Good job

damn you, I'm putting a pair on my 95 hatch today, oh well, at least I know what it'll look like. Mine are the NRG knockoffs, I'm not a big fan of tein green. :)
