My 2.5" straight to canister setup almost sounded like that (until I hit 6500rpms 
) so I figured I'd slap a glasspack in to quiet it down. As soon as that glasspack went on, I lost all my top end power. 
Ended up cutting the glasspack in half and rewelding it, but there's still a decent loss on top end power. :P
