would anyone here consider a showcar rice?

i plan on turning my 99 civic dx into a bad ass showcar.
i plan on totally modifying the exterior and probably interior to look like something that came out of an aliens movie. i totally love H.R. Gigers artwork and i am a pretty damn good artist myself.

i was just wondering if anyone here considered showcars rice. it wont hurt my feelings if you think my idea is dumb, id just like some imput.

i think that if it doesnt have the power to back up its good looks than its rice. Ive seen many "show cars" that are either automatics or have wimpy/no engine mods and are either as slow or slower than stock. Build a homemade turbo kit in that car (even if it is a D16) and have some fun with it...

I don't think it's a good idea, once you go all crazy you can't no longer drive it daily for fear of paint chips, dents and so on. It wouldn't be so bad if you have all the speed to back it up. I would build a show car that run high 10s IF i was filthy rich. ;D

IMO modifications that do not add to the car's performance=rice. BUT... you can't really call a one-off "aliens style" interior/exterior rice, can you? More like, "art"? ???

the guy with his orange paint job and bling ass 17's was pretty upset he was smoked by too stock looking cars yesterday ...so i dont know ....spending all that money on paint and wheels to make you look dumsb and slow is, well...RICE!

yeah if youre gonna build a car youre never gonna drive (or drive really slow) what is the point... youre gonna want to have fun with it. Besides it gets more respect to go fast then to just be rice

just wanted to add this, i posted it a week or so ago, hes a local guy from my town...rice or not it ran 10.93@133, before this paint job the car was jdm city, 5lug conversion itr wheels, etc etc etc, guy said he just wanted a change

I say it's all up to the owner... If thats what you want to go for is an all out showcar then do it. H.R. Giger's artwork is amazing and to completely redo a car and have it resemble the same type of scheeme could be pretty wild. I'd be interested in seeing it when it's finished.

where the hell are all these "SHOWS"
a show for what, what is the point of going to these "shows" and what do u get out of these "shows"
and what do u get out of these "show car"

now answer all these questions.

if you want to show of your car just show off how powerful your engine is. Put all that money towards your engine, make it have 600+ horsepower, and show it off by beating vipers ;)

if your car is a "show car" and you know its not fast then

thats diffrent. it is still rice, but i guess "acceptable"


Rice is when people put wings, neons and body kits and

acutally belive that they gain some performace.

if the say/belive that their car is faster/performs better

from their blitz front bumper, invader back bumper, blAck

widow side skirts, the super duper triple decker mega ultra

gt wing and 6 exuast pans....THATS RICE

That's not rice. That's ignorance.

Rice is an attitude. Revving your engine at people, talking ---- on other people cars... it just happens to be that most kids who have the Rice attitude also drive a body kitted, neoned up car.

your idea sounds interesting... custom ---- is cool whether its performance or aesthetics, but if you're going to build a spaceship/car you should have spaceship style acceleration

those are all rice. Only difference is one uses short grain rice (the 'jdm' one) and the other uses long grain rice.

Between the 2 I prefer the short grain one, but who cares do as you please
