Re: should i get a motorcycle
Bikes = real speed
To get back to your question , get a bike if you don't mind dying.
In many bike crashes its not even your fault - its some idiot driver that kills you
Both my grand parents were killed on their bikes, and in both cases it was the fault of the other party.
Theres absolutely nothing wrong with owning a bike .. I'd stick to a car tho

As ButSex said, just get a liter bike and dont do any stupid ---- on it for a while and you'll be fine... I got an R1 and the only riding experience i've had before was riding a bicycle. Droped it once while going 2 miles an hour... no biggie. I didn't even get hurt. But other than that i already put 1300 miles on it and no problem... If it was a 600cc i would probably already be tired of it...

The thing about bikes is pick one that you are most comfortable with; and take the advice of anyone telling you to get a 600cc 1000cc 250cc bike etc... with a large grain of salt. I've been riding since 02 so I'm not necessarily a veteran, but I'm not a newb either, and I'm glad I started with the pos 600cc bike I had, and from my personal experience, guys who started off on 600cc bikes and worked their way up tend to produce a faster lap time than ones who started off on the 1000cc bikes

Re: should i get a motorcycle
i dont think hotrex was talking to tuname when he said get a 1 liter bike..
he was talking to frank.. and frank is mature enough (from what i gather) to not do anything retarded..
on the otherhand.. with tuname.. just buy an old *** 80cc dirt bike and start it off REAL slow :1

Re: should i get a motorcycle
do not buy a 250. i know from personal experience that it is to small and youll be bord in a month. secound you probly weigh to much for it despite what it says. third the only thing a bike has to protect it self is speed and manuverability. 250 has no speed. i got a used 500 for my first bike and was fine. still a litle small and i weigh 180lbs. and my final coment will be that i sold it because i was scared i was going to kill my self, me being 18 at the time. moved on to going fast in hondas

Re: should i get a motorcycle
i weigh 140 but what i have read on a sport bike forum is to start off on a 250 because noobs hit potholes and probably pull on the throttle and go flying as if u had a 250 u wouldnt have as much power to throw u off. but i do want to get a yamaha y7f600r. but im not sure yet if i can sell my truck ill get another civic soon. theres no use in having 2 cars for 1 person. but ill be riding the bike around the block alot until i have the hang of it to shift and go around corners since i dont have much motorcycle skills at all.
