Should I fear for my job?

As many of you may or may not know... I work for Wachovia Bank N.A.

N.A.= National Association.. Not Naturally Aspirated.

As of 6/2/08, our board of directors announced the forced resignation of our former CEO, Ken Thompson. Alot of this had to do with losses... Well, all of it had to do with losses. The guy had worked here for 32 years, BUT.. in 1Q 2008, Wachovia lost $350M. (Yes, that's $350 Million) Jun 1, 2007 Wachovia stock= $54 per share. Jun2, 2008 Wachovia stock= $22 per share.

Now, they're already announced that Ben Jenkins will be taking his place as interim CEO. This happens to be the same Ben Jenkins that directly called me a piss-on in a site-wide meeting.

Do I have something to be worried about? :'(

Unless you give him a reason he can't fire you just because.

You better not give them any reason though, unless they decide to "cut costs" and get rid of you.

Look up the laws of the land, in NH we have equal oppurtunity employment, but you can be fired for no reason, its all up to the employer.

FYI: SC is an At Will state, not a Right To Work state. He can fire me because he has a booger in his nose...

Don't think that's gonna happen.. If that's the case, I'll gladly give you my job! ;D

I have no urge to look up laws for NH, I'll never venture that far north.

Like someone else said, you better start kissing some ass or look for somewhere else. Just depends on how big of an ------- he is.

Empty out the safe and head to Mexico, where you will promptly be robbed by the "police."

$6Billion means time for a merge... or some major cutbacks. No more company-supplied marijuana! :6

Are you actually high enough up in the food chain to mean he will remember you personally?

If yes, start looking for a job, shouldn't be too hard. You're high up in the banking industry.

If no, don't sweat it, you are just another pleb he decided to call a piss-on. And it didn't mean as much as you're making out.

By the way, your bank ------- sucks and has ruined various 1st world economies.

Yeah so is texas. I would be worried. Start looking for dirt on him to help keep your job. But if your just some low level piss nuts, go ahead and try for another job at a different bank and save some hassle.

Hell no, I'm exactly that.. A piss-on. I didn't mean to seem offended by his comment. He actually meant that in a semi-positive way. ::) . Wachovia hasn't ruined it... blame it on... NVM :3

well if he was just joking around then that changes everything. i wouldnt be worried, but you still might want to look for another job if wachovia is just getting worse and worse.

The only thing slow about me is my CRX.

Alabama is a Right-To-Work state, and we can sue for wrongful termination. It's somewhat useless, because it's easy for the employer to come up with "reasons" you were fired. It IS our law though, and you can be taken to court for firing someone just because you don't like them.

Explain to me what a "piss-on" is. That's some straight faggot ----, and I wouldn't want to work for somebody who can't come up with anything better to call me than "piss-on."

I don't work for him directly... He is now CEO. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position that allows me to be anywhere close to him. My only fear is that.. since so much money was lost so far this year, he may try to cut cost by reducing the number of offices my particular department has. Come to think of it, my jobsite is actually the cheapest of 7 or 8 to run. So, scratch that. My job is secure. And also, what do you do for a living? Do you work for a fortune 500 company? Just curious. I mean, my salary is acceptable.. Granted, I put up w/ alot of BS. so.. Nitemonkey.. what's ure job? I'm almost positive that Nick's Garage isn't a fortune 500, and probably doesn't pay what I make either!

I wouldnt necessarily be worried, but I would be trying to find an alternate job that can be placed on the back burner, helll maybe you will find a job that pays better and you enjoy more.
