buy an ls for 600$ no idea on the miles. just the engine and tranny. my friend that can hook me up said he can try and get the hole swap for me for 800. or see how much the guy wants for the car.

Re:should i?

Re:should i?

Re:should i?

even for 600 bucks for a b18a or b and tranny...even if they are in good shape which i doubt, you will still be slower than if you put a whole turbo kit together for that same amount, think about it

d turbo > b

b = hype

sorry, had to add that in

so turbo it, maybe a vtec head if you want, and if it blows then oh well drop in a d16 for next to nothing, seems to work for 75% of everyone else on this site

Re:should i?

dude a b series will own a d series over and over again ::)

and 600 bucks is not bad at alllll for a b18b motor/tranny

Re:should i?

Always turbo a D first. They are cheaper to blow up and they will give you just that much more experience before toying with the expensive ----.

Re:should i?

b is not hype, its power, ive done d series, an they are ---- to a b series, jeff said it best,

a d series is a learning experience, so is your first b series, after that, your making some great power.

a d is no comparison to b series, ever...

I actually agree with hotrex. B's in the long run will just make more power

Re:should i?

Go with B! ;D

but i love my F

Re:should i?

thats not a bad deal for motor/tranny. id buy it ----. just as long as he knows for sure that its in good condition. B>D. B series motors just make more power easier than a d. simple as that

Re:should i?

remember, d-series is a learning curve. B-series is not hype by any means. They will always produce more power in stock form, and hold more power when modified in stock form. And if built, a b-series will take more power than a D.

End of discussion, get a B-series if its cheap, or stick with the D if your broke.
