have a B@M rattles like ----
thought about cutting the ball out of a stock one and welding it to the B@M

B&M's are tight go back pull it out and check the little bushing duder that slips in through the bottom. I bet your litle gaskets dudes arent in there good. mine rattled like a champ untill I got some new littel o ring deals. after that I greased the ---- out of it slipped it bakc in and no more rattles.

I like my short throw, just wish I would have paid less

are you talking about the 2 O rings that connect the bottom of the shifter to the shift linkage
cuz i changed them once got a little better but i think its the ball it self that has a little play

I've had a B&M one, it was nice but to much $$. The last shifter I modifyed, I removed material above the pivot ball and added it below the ball so the level point is adjusted. Then cleaned all the rust out and put in new rubber washers, greased it up and it worked great. Its cheaper than an Ebay special and you know its not gonna break.

Yeah thats it. CHeck that thing and see if there is play in it. Maybe try getting fatter o rings to make it a little tighter?
