Short race video, what do you think (vid inside)
 

Alright so I saw this guy weaving through traffic real fast like he was in a big damn hurry, he was driving a mid 90's Caprice with the Police interceptor package (LT1) and had 3 people in the car including the driver. Me and my friend were like wtf, let's get him. Next thing we know he's infront of us a few cars at the stop light next to an Audi of some sort and when the light turns green we hear them both take off, the Caprice ended up passing the Audi.

Anyways long story short we get up next to the Caprice at a light and it's 3 young black guys laughing and pointing joking around...they don't know what they're getting into. Here's where the vid comes into play..

Of course we got stopped by the train and before we ever get stopped the guy in the caprice is rolling down the window with a look of major disbelief on his face and he bellows out "What did 'yall got done to that thing!?" We told him it was stock.

Anyways I put it on youtube.com and I get a comment tonight from some guy who thinks the Caprice would have over taken me with "a little bit more road."

What do you guys think?

It sounds just like the old A6 Wheeze. Why hate? If I ever go all-motor that is the loud sound I want. Gosh, I love the Wheeze. :y

Yeah excuse the sound quality of the video...it is a little raspy in actuality but not as bad as the video makes it out to be. I'm only N/A because I can't afford boost (yet). There's no cat or muffler, just a glasspack or resonator...I don't even really know what it is.

Other than that my setup is:
Internally stock B16
Y1 transmission
Short ram intake
Exhaust

The kid definately knew we were racing because he was smiling and laughing and ---- a few stop lights before this one too. Not to mention he peeled out a little bit. If you watch the stop light facing the opposite direction we're traveling you can see that I didn't really jump the gun, the light was green when I left.

160 crank horsepower & 120 crank tq is hardly power

the worst sounding motor of all time is the 22r toyota motor.

For a 1.6L na motor 160hp is not bad , its a good enough base to start getting power from it ( turbo etc )
How many other 1.6L na engines produce around the 160HP mark

Im not saying 160HP is power at all , fuk no.

I guess it helps that my car is a < 2000lb HF. This summer I'm hoping to get a full time job after I graduate high school and either boost it or do a few N/A modifications and buy a newer car next year once I save up a good down payment. I only paid $2500 for the car with the B16 but I've put $1000 or more into maintenance and repairs with still more to go.

What was the displacement? it wasn't 1.8 and that 180 is probably at the crank.

you're right, i never said it was 1.6l

2.3l
180 at the crank not sure on the tq but im sure its around 160 at the crank

That's not the point. If you would have paid attention to what I said in the post you would know that I don't think it's anything special that I beat this car, but everybody else that doesn't know ---- about Hondas or import cars in general seems to think that it's a miracle that I beat him and he'd get me on the highway.
