i've used plenty of HF, cornhole, mac, craftsman, and the old american tool companies (proto, sk, blackhawk, etc) over the years.

buy american if you want quality. buy elsewise if you are cheap, and don't think the chance of getting an inaccurate torque wrench

i even went and took some pictures and a vid of how to change torque on it.

15º deflection in and out (reduces the need for extensions on wheels, and helps your hand hold near the torque height of the bolt/nut)

torque setting **** locked

unlocked

going from 35 to 260 ft lbs on the wrench, fucktons faster than doing it the old 'turn turn turn turn turn turn' way of the wrist killers

Got the same one in the Mac varient. one of my favorite tools.

neat vid of the tech wrenches, techangle starts at 2:08

the wrench at work:

IIRC it is a 1" interchangeable head, about 5ft long, goes to 880n/m. I'm an electrician, so I rarely use it.

not a fan of electronic torque wrenches. for example, some things that are torqued at higher values. say the batteries die while your using it, than start pulling threads. i know unlikely, but the sound of a click style torque wrench is effective enough. no need to overcomplicate things.

the fee of the clickl is more reassuring than the feel of threads letting go

exactly, and even more important when your considering some things im torquing. (otr trucks) dont want hubs coming off because some cheap double a batteries decided to die while i was setting endplay on his hubs and the threads started to pull. ---- that.

the ---- we use the tech wrenches on is at least as important as OTR trucks.

$2m, +$95k per day just for the crane that sets it on top of the tower. Takes 1 day to install or remove.

Also the tech wrench has constant readout as you torque, and will not let you operate it with low batteries. If you put in cheap batteries that last .5 seconds, that's your own damn fault, because OTC energizers last 6-8 months of daily use by 2 shifts. Auto power off to save you from leaving it on too. We have them re calibrated if they are dropped and annually, and have yet to see one off by more than 1% at 100% rating.
