Shock Sensors

Hey everybody, i'm just wanting to know your opinion on shock sensors, if you have had problems with false alarms, high sensitivity, low sensitivity. Right now i'm having problems with my blackwidow shock sensor. I installed it myself in the summer and have had no problems untill now. My alarm has been going off periodically in the night. I don't think anyone is ------- with my car, because everytime i went to check out my car(with baseball bat, lol), i'v seen no signs of theifs prowling around. Every single time it was the shock sensor. I turned the sensitivity down, but it still goes off. I live in canada, so the nights are getting colder, and i was thinking the temp change may be causing the car to "creak" during the night, causing it to go off. But even when i test the shock sensor, at a very low setting, it seems abnormally sensitive(more sensitive than when it was warm). My alarm also has a option that lets you know if theres a faulty sensor by beeping 10 sec later, after its armed, AND so far no beeps, so it should be ok? What should i do? Replace it? or turn it down to the lowest setting?

I'd try out the lowest setting before buying a new one. Are any trucks or helicopters flying by? Those damned things set mine off all the time.

I'll try the lowest setting. Theres no planes or anything that go by, occasionally theres a guy with a load exaust that goes by, but my alarm only started going off recently. ???

Most likeley its a bad shock, they do go bad after a while. Mines getting that way too. I'm an installer and I see this all of the time. Black widow shock sensors are kinda crappy to begin with, just from what I've seen. If you want a new sensor, let me know, I can get one for you waaaaaaay cheaper then probably anyone else, I probably even have a few laying around.

I have tried placing more cushion between the sensor and the mounting surface. It seemed to help a bit. :-\

Re:Shock Sensors

thx for the replys guys :). I just got the alarm in aug, dam, if it went bad that fast thats crap! The thing i hate about it is the stupid thing has never went off during the day, it always seems to go off in the middle of the night. Here i am running outside half naked with a bat ready to kick some theif ass, my neighbores prob think i'm crazy ::), lol. But anyway, xplodcivic, i would consider buying a sensor from you if it keeps acting up.
