I have not been post whoring lately because one of my good friends at work and i were riding our bikes back from work when he blacked out at about 45 mph and fell off his bike and totaled it i called the ambulance and when he got to the hospital they relized he was in diabetic shock he was unconsious for about 5 to 6 hours but hes been awake the last few days and he seems fine they only injury he got from the fall was road rash they said it was because his body was total limp when he hit the ground hes a lucky bastard though except for the fact he found out hes diabetes hes lucky to be alive it was ------- scary seeing him fall off though i thought i was going to witness him dying

Good thing it happened the way it did and not while he was home alone or asleep, he would have died for sure. You have to look at the good side of things, yea it sucks that he is diabetic but it could be worse!

Perhaps this is a sign to everyone that you should get regular check ups... even though it costs alot you never know what you might be sick with!

Wow, that's crazy. I'm borderline diabetic. I have problems with sugar levels. I get bad bad headaches if I don't get enough sugar. I drink about 12 cans of soda a day. I'm kinda holding it off because there is no way I could ever stick a needle in my body. I have bad memories about getting shots when I was a kid. Diabeties sucks. I hope your friend doesn't have the same phobia as me.

if you keep puttin it off and just drinkin coke to get sugar. you will die very early. my grandpa had diabetes and never did anything about it till be was 40. he died at 55.

and in that 15 years he went almost deaf/blind had both legs amputated, and had 5 heartattacks and 4 strokes.

Yeah that does suck. Sorry to hear about that man. Hey Doc, that little video at the bottom of your posts is funny as hell!!! Maybe that kid is diabetic. low blood sugar means lack of energy... and for the kid it means too short a jump in the pool...

I know the feeling and sorry to hear about your friend. I suffer from a heart condition called mitrovalveprolaps/ heart mumor. I never knew i had it when i was young and i would black out all the time ,it also got so bad to the point where i almost had a heart attack ....twice and im only 21 . They say i can't push it cause i will probly suffer a heart attack but ----'em you never live til you feel death and get away. After that you start to notice all the little things in life that make life. Hope he recovers soon ,hate hearing when a fellow bro goes down .

hey sorry bout your friend. hey dr. you need to check into something called a pump for diabetes. my good friend has one i dunno what there all about but she doesnt have to inject.

That really sucks about your friend... but with all the technologies and advancements in medicine you can live a somewhat normal life with this disease. Just as long as you stick to the regimen prescribed by your physician.

Unfortunatly there is no cure for diabetes, but it can be controlled, or prevented (unless its hereditary) Just get check ups every 6 months... ---- you can even get it when your a kid...

Diabetes is either rapid... almost from one day to the next... probably like your friend... or it developse gradually...

just take care of yourself and trust your doctor... sometimes theyre full of ----... but remember who has the degreee hanging on their wall at home.

Justin, go straight to a doctor and learn to shoot up insulin. Glucose + fructose + sucrose soda pop regimen will have you a blind amputee with cardio problems before 30. Diabetes is scary ----.

As far as falling off a bike at 45... my friend Justin (Derrick, diff guy) swears 35-45 is the sweet spot and you can't get hurt. LOL, guy is crazy.

General consensus is, bikes don't kill, cars hitting bikes kill.
