Hell find one in the lower part of the midwest like Kentucky or Tennesse as you don't really see car with much rust on them around there. Atleast that's what I noticed when I was down there just last month. I think paying like 1500 to have a civic shipped out to IN is kinda :S. If it wasn't for my wife's work and then having a location in socal to drop it off at then I would of never got it. I only ended up paying 3200 shipped for my rustless EG8 with a bunch of goodies and a Z6 in it just to have it driveable. Jago got to drive it as he got the engine from it. Full Ferio interior besides the steering wheel on the left side. lol.

I'll be home for sure on the 5th for a month. Kinda weird, I leave okinawa on the 5th at 8am and arrive in SB at 8pm, and the flight is 25 hours total from the time I leave here and the time I get home.

I find out exactly whats goin on with my next few years at the end of July...then major plans will begin.

if you find one in washington, i might be able to work something out where you pay for gas and food/plane ticket back home+100 for me or some ----, and i could drive it to indiana, i once flew to georga to pick up a car, because i was saving so much, and i was up for a road trip, over 3500miles i think i drove just to get home. something redicules, also took like only 3 days. this was three years ago so its been awhile lol.

its not worth it unless this is the ONLY way. There are other options. But...if you do decide to go throught with it...take a look at this review. http://www.transportreviews.com

I searched on google and did the multiple quote at once.....BIG NO NO! You get spammed for weeks! But I got quotes. Was shipping my is300 from the midwest to southern cali... I got $800-2000. Most of the companies were only brokers. NOT their own transport company. Those that were...were more expensive. I ALMOST went with a company untill I saw their reviews on that site that someone else sent me. Man, I'm glad I didn't send it. The reviews were like one of the worse ones for a transporting company. Cars go missing, cars missing parts, cars not sent to the right place. Also...some companies transport the car to a site...then sit the car there till their partner company picks it up to deliver it to you. SO......do your homework if you really want to ship the car. I hope that helped.

Re: shipping a car across the US

I think what I will end up doing is sorta what Henry had mentioned. Finding a car in a place with no rust issues and fly to that location and drive the bitch back. Comming from Ky. or Tn or going SE or SW of Indiana, I should be good. That is like a weekend drive...and after living in Okinawa where you drive for 4 hours and get 60 miles...i'm ready for a 4hr trip in the states where you can drive across a ------ state on a dam highway where the windows are down and your doing 80mph the entire way. :P And I will NEVER complain about a $200 plane ticket ever again in my life...or a 4 or 5 hour plane ride.

My flight from Okinawa to Tokyo is around 3 hours I think, then a long ------ layover in Tokyo, then from Tokyo to Detriot is like 12hrs, then another long ass layover (and customs) in Detroit, then into SB. Im hoping that I can catch an earlier flight into SB...we'll see how that goes. :l Im looking forward to going back to the states.

I used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They were the cheapest I found and my car got there in one piece. It was a week late, but it was the middle of winter and a lot of the major roads were closed. I would use them again.
