Shipping to Canada?
 

I tried shipping a box w/pistons to Martin (xgenturbo) today and of course, he's in Canada and they freaked out on me. The box that came to me said "flat rate box" and "USPS blah blah blah" all over it so I crossed them all out, but they told me that I am not permitted to use that box period :l I'm half tempted to just flat-black the box. Fuckers.

Anyways, they handed me a piece of paper with a bunch of ---- on it. How did you guys that have shipped to Canada fill it out? I didn't look at much of it but I know in the past people have said checking off "gift" makes it cheaper. But does it? What should I write?

if you dont, martin will end up paying duty fee's on it!

as far as i know theres nothing special, just wrap the box in tape and slap a label on it. name address, city, prov, country etc.. then just check GIFT

Well, I don't feel like re-wrapping, so I think its gonna be a flat-black flat-rate box 8)... im gonna try the post office in my home town too though.

Eh, I'd throw it in another box but I don't want Martin to pay more money for shipping than he has to (i'm doing this as a favor for him... it was free shipping to the USA)

ill be sure to check gift though. Will they charge more if I say the actual worth of the pistons?

Wow- first time to the post office huh?

All priority and express mailing supplies are for that service only. You cannot use flat-rate in canada.

Just do like I do, cut one of the seams, or rip the glued one and turn the box inside out. Then it is just plain brown.

They printed "USPS Priority" on teh inside for a while, but not anymore.

The customs for is very easy to fill out. Mark it as a $13 gift. Yes it really helps.

First time shipping to Canada :( I'm not using flat-rate, it was originally a flat-rate box, but I marked over everything.

He speaks the truth. I get all my boxes from us mail and just turn them inside out for international. Us mail si very picky spent the 2 minutes to re do it. They like to bitch

Or don't use USPS. I get boxes from FedEx and the are quite often USPS Fixed Rate boxes that have been used.
