Set-Up for Dissappointment...

I'm getting everything done by mid July. I'm expecting 185whp and like low 14 sec. 1/4 mile times. I see other people running my similar se-up and dipping 13s. I WANT 200whp and 13.9. Okay to the problem. My friends have been to the local track and watched turbo civics ALL day pass with 15.4 and the like times. I see here everyone's 13 and low 14 runs. What is the deal? Yea, like this Honda God I guess ran a 15.4 in his EG hatch with a d16y8 boosted. What turbo and all I don't know, but the point is am I set-up for failure here? NO ONE has faith that the Civic will do these numbers. "You got high hopes man. That's all" That's the nice way my buddy put it. Here's my set-up:

98 EJ Civic EX Coupe
d16y8
JRC IC 5"
T3 .48/.63
10 psi track
Uberdata
DSM 450s

Anything else I need really important? Thanks fellas! Should I pull my dream numbers or settle to what they think and run with the fast n/a's in town. There's just no way those guys are running 15.4 and the like.

Tires. Most likely they're running street crap. get some good drag radials or dedicated slicks to hookup. My bet is they spin halfway through 3rd gear.

15.4 .. but what trap speed?

Sounds like a track issue, what are other cars/setups running?

Even my N/A B16 managed to run 14.6@97 with a crappy 60ft, and I don't see why a motor making more power than that couldn't pull off a similar or quicker time.

you should have no problem smokin those people. LSD and slicks will be your best friend. slicks are just as important as the tune. ;)

----, a stock si civic will run a high 14 on slicks.

how good are the drivers? there are lots of reasons why the times are high, screwed up track/tires/tune/driver/weather or climate...

id say that you should run it with an intercooler, just to be on the safe side. that can lower ur time a bit, also, it does depend on the tires you have, and the atlitude. different tunes, for different climates.

im by mt. rainier, by the cascades. im up really high. i can make a run over here, and then, make a run somewhere at sea level, and have two different times, all because of the density of the air.

my bad, i didnt see that he had an intercooler
