Which Set?

I need plug wires, and obviously i don't want to spend a lot of money. Should i go with these OBX 10.2mm wires, or the Accell 8mm's.

OXB

Or, the Accell's

Is OBX Just cheap ricer crap? I know accell has been around for ages, but i'm tempted to go with the OBX's as they are thicker, unfortunatly the resistance of the OBX's isn't listed. Also, i hate the fact that they are yellow but the are they are priced the best with shipping to Canada.

Really? Would OEM be better than either of those?

OEM is a lot better than most people think. There is really no improvement to be had by wires, or tower caps, or other multiple spark madness, until you get up into some really high HP ranges on the Hondas.

I have a shitty old aftermarket set that came on the engine and one of them was fucked. I just wanted to pick up a fresh set, i guess i'll head to the junkyard and grab some Oem's

or just buy new ones...... thats what i would do.

Re: Which Set?

only 'upgrade' to be had by wires is to get ones with metal core, and not shitty fiberglass, graphite core bullshit

Smokey 10-07-2007 10:55 PM

Re: Which Set?

I'm not looking for an upgrade, just a half decent OEM replacement at a cheap price. Best price at the parts place around here is $60, and i can get the accell's for $40 to my door.

Rockin Denzo's at the moment. NGK's arent too bad either.

Re: Which Set?

just run accel wires, $22 bucks a box and you get 8 wires, plus a coil wire.

they're long lasting as ----, and stiff, so you can shove those fuckers down your plug tubes

Yeah but how often do you actually replace plug wires?

1990 Honda CRX (230,000mi) - rocking EVERYTHING stock (except the timing belt I hope), no misfires or issues. But yeah in most cases you should replace sooner. ---- aftermarket, OEM handles the job of conducting well enough.

When they are bosches you will replace them yearly or more.

I have some nice Accell 8 mm if you want them. Hit me up.

Re: Which Set?

Lol point taken... I have heard good things about Accel wires (I think it was Accel). Their wires (or some other company with thinner-than-normal for aftermarket) have really low resistance for the diameter.

Re: Which Set?

accell is a really good choice.
I currently use msd, before that accell. oem sucks with the msd box.

Re: Which Set?

I picked up a set of NGK's at the parts place today for $55. Lifetime warranty, hopefully those will do the trick. I'm not looking for much more than 300whp so they should do the trick for now.
