serious wiring problems

ok im swappinga dpfi onto a a car that has been fitted with an si swap, i got everything swapped, the Intake mani and the engine harness, but i have a problem, on the pass. side of the car i have an extra plus near the fuse box it has six wires in it, also teh big plug on the drivers side (near the old resistor box) doesnt fit the one coming from teh harness? the one on the dp harness is a lot bigger, adn the wires arent the same, does anyone know what i should do to get this to werk?? is there anything else i need to do to make this retarted ass swap work?

please dont reply asking why im doing this, i sold my car with the si swap, but i previously sold the intake manifold, and i wanted the si harness for a shell im getting today for the ls swap

DX and SI harness's are not swappable..

You can make a Dx harness into an SI one, but even if you did, then put it in a SI car, it would run right. The wires are in different locations.

either way the harnesses are not swappable

Re:serious wiring problems

i wasnt worried about getting more $$ for it, i was just selling the car, because i didnt want to put my ls into a car with a body kit, adn that was slammed 2 inches, so i sold it for 600 bux how it was and i told him id put his dpi on it for him. i was selling it so cheap to get rid of it cause my buddy had a mint shell for 300 so i wasnt worried about trying to make a lot of $$ off it

i just did that swap actually....it took us about a week to get the wiring right....its a pain in the ass. we took out the si motor and trans from a beater si and put a good dpfi motor and 4 speed manual into it. he bought the si for 700, we did some body work and the motor swap and sold if for a grand...it worked out nicely. then he sold the si motor, kept the tranny, and financed his whole zc swap into his car. anyways, i'll try to get a wiring diagram from him, he was the one that got it right finally. i'll post it tonigth if i can get ahold of him. he made a little diagram, if you can, get the schematics from both motors and compare them, thats what we did. we DID put the standard motor harness on the si, we cut the main plugs and just soldered the right stuff to the right place. made the only standard civic with a sunroof and a rear wiper(i stole the mint interior for my standard model!HEHEHEHE)

Yes, I believe we're all wondering why you want to do the SI to DX, but anyway.. if you realyl WANT to, you'll have to do the DX to Si BACKWARDS.. and use a PM5 ECU, since your PM6 won't power a DPFI..

Plus, you'll need a different distributor.. unless the SI can work without a complete circut to the TDC and CYP sensors..

Re:serious wiring problems

if you use the si harness, it will be si to dx backwards, that wont be too tough.....i would do that if i were you. dont use the dx harness, i did it and i regret it. be basically made our own harness, and it sucked.

shortz sry i read you post wrong the first time, it looke dlike you said try to search , some people find that hard, as in searching hard, anyway sry bout that, i told the guy that his harness wasnt going to go on to the car because it was an si, so he is starting to peice together a mpfi setup for it

redzcstandardhatch:
if you can find that diagram will you please post it, i might do that if it is possible

It's the same diagram that you're looking at in this post, just do it backwards.

Re:serious wiring problems

yeah, you pretty much just need to do what that diagram says, only backwards.....thats what we did.
