Re: scrap copper is good money

5 employees that worked for the town of Paoli where I live got busted for stealing that big thick powerline wire and scrapping that out.. i guess they had like 10 grand worth and split it up.. And one of the guys that was in on it was bragging to his buddies about it.. ended up getting busted. They all got fired and are in major legal ---- now.

I work construction and anytime we tear out alluminum siding, or soffit, or guttering, or whatever else he always lets me scrap it out.. Usually I get 100 bucks per truck load. It's only like 70 cents/lb here. I took a few big ass alluminum Satellites to the scrap yard before and made some nice cash

Aluminum is coming up in price. Copper is outrageous but if youre going around trying to rip off power lines you deseve to be electrocuted for trying to steal that ----. Ground rods are NOT copper, they are steel and are copper plated. And yes that machine that strips copper like rawr drew up does exist. If youre good you can get a knife like this and cut the cover off yourself. Even when my knife was dull i was stripping 8 gauge copper about 4ft every 10 seconds. So quit burning it off or whining and get a good knife
