Scary Realization This Morning
Well, I got up this morning, and realized we only have 8 weeks and 6 days until out first baby is due. Man, seems like just a few weekd ago we where telling people for the first time. Don't think I'm gonna be able to finish the engine before the baby, so I'm startin' to think it might not get finished at all. So, wish me luck (with the baby AND the engine).

Re:Scary Realization This Morning
Congrats, and enjoy the experience. It is very strange going to the Hospital as a couple and leaving with an extra PERSON!!! I was like, OK, now what do we do?
My kid is going to be 4 soon, and likes to "work" in the shop with me. :D |

Re:Scary Realization This Morning
Congrats dude,
My son will be seven months old this month and I must say that once you have a baby, you can't imagine what life would be like without them. It's a cool thing. Always be "into" something. If you like cars, don't give it up, just do it when you can. Good luck. PS- When the baby is born, DON'T LOOK. ;) |

Re:Scary Realization This Morning
Congrats...
My son is 15 Months on the 20th.. My first... and all that stuff you are worried about now( with having a baby) forget about it.. there is a shitload of stuff that you havent even thought of that will be 10 times more important.. It will be hard for awhile.. but keep thinking positive, like the age that your baby can actually BE in the garage with you, without worrying about him/her cutting off a hand or foot.. Its not easy, but it SURE as hell isnt hard.. Be patient and watch your child learn and grow: THAT is the best thing in the world!! |
Re:Scary Realization This Morning
congrats man, my baby girl is 2 and a half months. it is pretty crazy, just have like two or three baby showers and you should have enough ---- to last like 6 months, during that 6 months, cram to get your car done and by the time you need to start buying ---- for the baby, your car will be done ;D

Re:Scary Realization This Morning
thanks SO much for the support guys, it really helps. we have 57 days till our due date as of today. man, it's all going SO fast. as for the engine, well, i just picked it up from the machine shop (well, it's a napa with a machine shop, and my cousin who works there brought it to me). they check if i was outa round (i had used a 3 stone and some calibers at home, and i thought i was pretty good), and they said it was with specs, so the put a NICE cross hatch on it and called it good. best part, it's was on'y $10 to have them check it and hatch it. so tonight, i'm putting my Perfect Circle rings and pistons in. i have my Dana rod bearings already, but i haven't bought my main bearings yet. i'm also working on a special project, and i'll post some pics of the work in progress tonight since we barrowed a digital camera. speaking of, we are goign to be buying one for when the baby comes. we are looking at the Sony Mavica that uses mini-CD's as a media. it does video and stills. anyone have any XP with those?
