I don't know why people are driven to do this. Why is it appealing to spend TONS of money on a car you can't drive just so you can PAY to show it? Then the only thing you get out of it is people walking by saying, "What the hell was he thinking?" I hope it's worth it. ??? ::)

there are show cars that are clean, subtle, and one off. that is not rice. doing things that are that drastic is rice. there's a difference between a clean looking kandy kolor, and a psycho paint scheme with skulls and decapitated monkeys and phone numers on it.

Okay I know it's ricey n all, but you gotta give mad props to the body work on this car. I don't see no "waves in the paint job. The NSX vents came out pretty nice, and look at how they reshaped the front bumper to accomodate the 7-series beemer lights. That's some tite ass ------' work, I'd drop my car off to get it painted there if the only thing I could afford wasn't black primer.

lmao, I went to that show too. Import fest right? I was SO disappointed. 20 bux to stare at carpet queens.
A friend of mine had his car there. It's show, but not a carpet queen.. daily driven. it was the Red Civic SiR. had lambo doors hood that opened in the middle. Lic plate is SexySir. b16a2 w/ c5 top end.. not bad, but a waste of money that is for sure. He says the only good thing he got out of it was a free airbag suspension and some mothers cleaning crap. car + 25g on CRAP. he regrets it. Atleast we can see where the supply of B-series engines went.. damn carpet queens. |

I have a friend who has a show car. Her and I didnt talk for like a year because we got into it about how homosexual it is. ANYWAY she tells me if you dont have headlights off of another car plastered on your ----, you have no hope of even getting an honorable mention.
What I've noticed about most show people is that they KNOW its retarded and ridiculous, but they support each other like some sort of 12 step program group. If you goto a lot of these shows theres almost no one there except owners/painters/body men who also own/work on these cars. Just my observations on the scene. |

i think that everyone who has just recently got interested in imports (like within the past couple of years), starts off on the ricer/show car side of things. after a while, the respectable people, move on to the engine/tuning capabilities of these cars and realize that they were young in the scene and naive, and can't believe that they actually liked that stuff. the idiots who have no concept of style or what makes a "real" car, stay with the rice scene, and yes deep down they know they're morons, and they do need eachother for moral support. if you notice usually, when these terds are in a group, they look like they are on top of the world. but when you see one lonely ricer cruisin the strip, his seat is reclined so far back, not for pimpin reasons but because he's trying to hide from the real import enthusiast's. just my .02
