2.1's on crappy street rubber is acceptable, but not great.

Daniel used to pull 1.9's on freebie 175/70/13's, ran consistent flat 9's in the 1/8th, stripped 90 DX with stock LS swap. He didn't have the torque overload/wheelspin problem quite as bad as you do, I suspect.

Work on weight transfer. Try to hold the ebrake while at the tree, gently slip the clutch to get the *** to squat. That gets rid of the majority of initial weight transfer that lifts the front end and allows the fronts to break free super easy. Slip first gear forever, if you have to. When rolling, a little 2-3 second tire squall is fine, but if the wheels just break free and the tach slams towards redline that is unacceptable and when you need to lift.

Ask for ridealongs from someone at the track whose doing a really good job. Have no ego, "dude, I suck, can you give me some pointers/can I ride along + watch?" Worked great for me, but alas I'm not God's gift to the driving.

I'm having FTL set-up to like 4000rpm, see the thing with that though is 4G is kind of high, but not only that I'll have some boost along with it. So expect some high 60's again until I learn to slip the launch better. I think it will be better though because I can slip it (like Joseph said) for as long as I want. Should I start to spin through first to 2nd gear and slip 2nd or should I not stay in the throttle in 1st to attempt not losing mad traction?

do you not kno what FTL does? minizes wheel spin to certain mph to help increased launches.. you'll see boost but bouncin at 4k it wont jus sit n spin, you'll be movin n it'll be spinning but not all dramatically. then near the middle of first it'll deactivate n you'll have traction. worked every time for me

Thanks. No I get it, but never rode in a car with it or drove with it. So I just go by hear-say.

If it's tire screech and acceleration when shifting to second, go with it. If the wheels just spin and the tach goes to redline then feather the gas.

Grannyshifting to second may help lots, depending on your spool point and gearing.

Not everyone is as good as you Hotrex. It's my first time. I'll drop the 60 foots and learn to launch. FTL is getting set up and I'm just going to learn by driving I guess.

JD - It's more just wheelspin in first I leave go to get me to spin to 2nd. That's bad huh? LOL. That's just how I did it. I don't know any different. No one around here drives so whatever gets a better time I try. I have a buddy I'm going to get to try and help me. He pulled 14 flat when he blew his motor with about 1/16 of mile left in the track on his boosted LS. So spinnig first to get to 2nd is a no no?

why wouldn't it be a no no? u think ur movin forward jus cuz u hear the tires screeching? why u think ur 60' were ------ whack. tire spin = u go nowhere = u get whack 60's = whack 1/4 mile. u do the math, reduce wheel spin = better 60's = better 1/4 mile time... wheel spin feels cool n makes u think u have "mad" power, i remember u thought u had a 13 second car haha... maybe with more boost and a full weight reduction/slicks. keep practicing n go back.

I'm not gonna lie, man I can't drive and I know it. When the car was N/A I was pretty decent little wheelspin little tire hop just put in on the floor and bang gears. That's it. It's definitly harder now. I too, even with lower 60s I think 13s is going to be rough; however numerous people have dipped 13s with similar set-ups. I personally had high hopes of knowing low 14s and MAYBE hitting 13s. Now, I am not so sure it will even thought many others think it will or say the set-up will. I just don't see lower 60's cutting it into 13s, but how do I trap 99mph at 14.8? If I got traction I'd trap around 101mph right?

if u get traction you'd prolly trap more then that. i bet with slicks u could pull atleast 13.9 prolly better. but im not sure, its all in ur driving n blah blah blah. thats a decent trap tho. goodluck bro. im sure u can do it
