Re: Salvage title??
it varies state to state, here in az it just has to go through inspection and get a road test to get a restored title

Re: Salvage title??
If the car doesnt have a totaled title you should be fine. Call your local dmv and find out has each state varies but in cali almost all hondas are salvaged literally from theft or accidents

Re: Salvage title??
I know in MN, as in most states, there are ways to get a normal title on a car. Just includes inspections, paperwork ect.
I thought about doing it with an olds that I had totalled. Didn't seem worth it, I found a buyer earlier. |
Re: Salvage title??
WA is the same way, you just need to get the car inspected. Here its like a 50 dollar fee, plus like a 5 dollars paperwork charge. My buddy and I had to do this for his old school BMW after he bought it back from the insurance company.

Re: Salvage title??
cool, I just checked...apparently in MD you need to have the car pass inspection by the state troopers, than have it pass normal safety inspection and then you go through the normal titling process. The car I'm trying to do this on is a Colt GT Turbo(4G61??), a pretty nice find... its in good condition, just has the salvage title.

Re: Salvage title??
my car is or was a salvage title. just make an appointment wit state patrol and get it inspected. just make sure u have all the recites for wat ever u added on or fixed. bc ppl can get fuxked for that. ebay recites are no good in WA, but unsure about other states. i ve done a few cars already. most of the cars my fam own use to be salvage ttitle. i think they turn it into rebuilt title not sure, i forget.. make sure u have paper wrk and stuff, or just ask em wat u need when u call for an appointment
oh yeah sometimes it takes awhile, sometimes the appointment can be months away, depending on how busy they are or wat state ur in. |
Re: Salvage title??
Best bet is to find out your state laws on salvage titles and go from there.
