Sad day

3am I get a phone call that my 38 year old big brother died in his sleep. He was an artist living in NYC.
We have to wait about 2 months for the toxicology report to determine the cause of death.
I had to be the one to tell my parents the bad news, it was the worst feeling.
My friends and family have been very supportive.
IDK what else to say, he was very unique, and taught me so much. He was always so proud of me, he used to show me off to his friends and say "this is my brother", with a big grin. Im going to miss him so much its so hard to never hear him or see him anymore.
I dont want to depress anyone, I know I need to communicate whats going on with me, b/c I tend to shut down, sleep, or not deal with it.

My friends have told me that they are my brothers, and that is comforting for me to know.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, every bit helps.

Sucks to hear man. I'm only 22 so haven't known anyone near that amount of time, but there's quite a few people that it'd be hard to cope with losing. Hope thinks get better, be sure to be there for your parents

Out of any manner of death, sleeping/passing away has GOT to be the most painless and "nicest" way to die.

That sucks so much ass dude, good luck with all of this and just be there for your rents and such. You have any other siblings? Be there for them too. Good luck and I'll be praying for you and your family.

sorry to hear it man. i dont know what i would do if i lost my brother. just keep your head up and remember there is always tomorrow. i lost my dad back in april and it felt like i was walking through sand and i always felt sick to my stomach. it may not be much consolation right now, but that feeling does go away and when you think of your brother just remember the good times you had together.
the body is only a vessel for the spirit until it is ready to pass on to another stage of life.

Damn dude...sorry to hear :(

It's always tougher when someone is young like that, especially on the parents and siblings. Have a cold one on me...or better yet I'll have one ready for you when you come out in a few weeks O0

It sounds like your brother had a sense of humor and enjoyed his life. It sucks badly that he was taken so early, but from the sounds of it he did more living than most people. Props to him, and condolences to you.
