i know one i just rebuilt the motor on ran like ---- when i got it back together, boged and just ran like ----, replaced the fuel filter and still ran like ----, ended up being the crank angle sencor, i work at a shop and i see crank and cam sencors go out all the time and make cars run like ----. test that. also is it vortec or ? and how much fuel pressure at idle.. also is it throwing any codes? even if the light isnt on it could have a code in the system, or a past code that has been cleared and not fixed, seen it a million times :o

already unplugged the cat. no luck. wouldnt it throw a code if the crank positioning sensor went out? fuel pressure is about 60 psi at idle. i have a code reader and it does not show any codes in the system. any way to be sure there are no stored faults?? im lost.

Check fuel pressure when it dies and see if it drops off, if not, I would replace the crank sensor. Crank sensor doesn't always throw a code.

those engines are very very sensitive to fuel pressure, I think spec is 60 if I remember right and the fuckers will barley run on 50. Only engine I have eveer found like that.
