Default Rust

I have noticed alot of the bolts in the engine bay are rusted to ---- like this one:

I dont think this is from colorado at all for we dont use salt on our roads. This car was orignally an california car and then it went to ohio for most of this life. Do they use salt on the raods in ohio oris this a resualt of the car sitting in the snow and rain without a hood for a good 5 months? There is no sign of cancer on the car at all except for the bolts.

Just normal wear would be my guess Onyx. Especially if it was cheap hardware. Everyday oxidization and moisture will carse anything to rust if it's not protected.

east coast is horrible on cars, they dump excesive ammounts of salt on our roads in east pa., to the extent of it sounding like driving on a gravel driveway. pink, patink, ding. My rex was a rust machine, it still has a little rust on the rear quarters, but what e.c. honda doesn't.
