Royce Gracie vs Matt Huges anyone watch UFC
 

after 11 years Royce Gracie is coming back to the octogon. even though i train with Calrson Gracie Royces uncle and cousin . man i have to say i think Matt Huges is going to tear him up. hes almost 40 and his peak was UFC 1 2 and 4 what do you guys think Huges or Royce.

Hughes for sure, can't see Gracie coming back after 11 years and kicking ass. I'd love to see him prove me wrong though. :P

royce did have a couple matchs in japan its not like hes been out for 11 years but im still going with hughes

last time he came back he got his ass whooped....i dont remember that much about the fight....but my brother has literally probably 30 dvd's of pride fighting and ufc.....pride is so much better incase u guys didnt know.....my brother fought at the school in brazil for a while.....hes pretty good 2nd place in amature comps....but yea im down for a conversation on ufc/pride....incase you were worried that i wasnt

you fight in the cage too, or just train.

i fight in the cage fights at the annex here in sioux city iowa. i got a really big fight comming up on the 15th. he is a jiu-jitsu fighter all the way from chandler az.

cage no not yet. im a jiu jitsu guy. i train at carlson gracie in chicago so we do lots of jiu jitsu but we do no holds bar too. stephan bonner trains with us over there. carlson pasted away couple weeks ago. this guy was a legend but his son calrson jr. still teachs there. im doing some stand up, my friend is a black belt in kenpo, so im learning some stuff from him. but dont really have much time for it. i like submission fighting and i think im going to stay with that. im working on my punching cause i cant really punch too hard. but i think im staying with grappling. my guy fought at xfo few days ago he trains with keith hackney. dont know if you remember him from the early ufcs. so what is your main style mixed??

he got his ass handed to him by K.Sakarba they nick named him "the gracie hunter" as much as i would like to see gracie win this is a young mans sport . and hughes is just too powerfull

Gracie used to surprise the shitouytof me going up against some pretty large stricker and submitting them, i jsut dont see him taking him down though. Hughs is a great fighter though and just absolutely methodical. Be nice to be surprised by gracie though.

Hughes all the way, I did get to see Gracie in the first ufc fight here in Denver how about the forrest griffin--tito ortiz fight coming up

stephan bonner trains with us. it should of been bonner vs ortiz but griffin is one hell of a fighter. how bout alrovski and syliva im going with alrovski for sure

Shamrock fought Gracie twice. Tapped out the first time, and intentionally mounted and held gracie for like an hour the second fight to a no contest. Shamrock is all talk. He like stares down apponents like he's gonna tear them apart and then gets his ass handed to him.. he should stick with the WWE.

shamrocks brother was pretty good in pridefighting, surprising dont see more of him. I guess lions den hayday is gone.

the fight was disapointing IMO. I really wish hughs could have gotten a submission on gracie though

well hughs got gracie down in the first 2 min of the fight. had a wierd looking arm bar hold on gracie that just looked like his arm was going to break in two. Gracie rolled out of it got to his stomach. hughs was mounted on gracies back and just started to pound the ---- outta gracies head . ref stopped it at 4min 30 sec of the first round.

Hughes just ------- rocked Gracie in standing fight, rocked him on the ground, and smashed on him and ended it in round 1.

which in short says history, as in OLD, while he may be a legend, hughes is a rising phenom, no way is gracie going to take him out.

when I first heard that there was going to be a fight between them two, I thought is was going to be for the title. I think this fight was just all about how much money they could rack in. Ohwell good fight.

dammit, Royce lost. HE could'nt intelligently defend himself... matt was on his back just pounding away.

matt did have a mean arm lock on him though... it look like royces arm snapped but i don't knw, not a doctor, and royces face was expressionless. When he got back to his locker room, you can tell he was really hurt.

I think they need to go agian. This time mat needs to stop being a ----- and put his belt on the line. What a joke. Anyways, yeah, royce lost :(

dude thats a pretty uneducated evaluation.

For one, it probably wasn't Matt's choice to not put his belt on the line, I strongly doubt the UFC would allow it. With all the people who are working their way up in the UFC constantly trying to get title fights, do you really think they're gonna let someone step in after 11 years and just jump right into a title match? ha.

On another note, there is no point in them trying to let Gracie fight Hughes again. Matt Hughes is so well rounded that he completely outclasses Royce in pretty much every way possible. They stood, Hughes dominated. They went to the floor, Hughes dominated. Sure back in the day when no one knew what Jiu Jitsu was he might have been the ---- cause no one knew how to defend it, but if you look now, most fighters know some form of it.

well we can say the same thing with alovsky and silvia, first match, andre dominated both in stand up and whooped his ass on the ground for the submission. So are you saying that silvia alovsky II shouldn't have happened? Of course not, but it did. So what makes this different. MMA is pretty much all about the better athlete, stronger faster. Everyone and their moms trains for stand up and bjj: it's pretty much a staple besides other that are stand up and wrestling.

Now as I compare hughes/gracie to alosvsky/silivia, maybe that first fight wasn't for tim, and royce. But tim came back and knocked him the ---- out cold. Can we not say that this won't happen with hughes if they meet agian? I'm postive it huges/gracie II happens... Gracie know's what to train for. Gracie hasn't stoped competting, i'm most positive he has been up agianst opponents plenty of times with gnp...

I'm just saying, this wasn't Royce's night.
