I've been using a #2 guard on my head for years, it's great because I always wake up with some funky chicken hair or something if it's long enough to hold a horrible pose. With the shortness I just wake up and go, don't need to touch it. Now this receeding hairline..... maybe I should pick up a pack of fresh Sharpies and fix it Bud Bundy style.

I use the 3mm guard on my clippers, have been since freshman year a few years ago. Before that I had 6" of hair. Now with a hairline that's running scared I keep it 3mm high. ---- bedhead and a hot scalp.
I guarantee by 35 I'll have a full head of gray hair.

This has been working for me, im 28 and i have had this spot thinning in the top back of my head. For a month and a half now i have been taking 2 fish oil pills in the morning and 1 cod liver oil at night. It seems to be helping cause my girl noticed last night that the spot is not as noticible any more. SHe asked me if i was using rogaine and never told her, and i said i have been taking fish oil. My finger nails are so damn strong now i can climb trees with no problem and i have to cut them every week now. My moods have been better and my back seems to be less sore from working on cars and stuff. I am a firm believer now in fish oils. The only bad thing is you burp up fish unless you spend the money on the ones that break down in your intestines. Try it!
