Road Racers
Just want to know how many of you guys are planning on taking your cars to the road coarse this next year for racing or lapping/instruction?
I know Jeff and Adam had a lot of fun! I had a blast going last year too, and the season will start again in March here in the northwest.

Well I am definatly going to do it again this year.. Should be a bit more fun with a B-series swap rather than the Mini-me. I really need to do something about my brakes next year. Road racing is just so incredibly hard on them. But my main goal next year will be drag racing

Run turbos? What do you think Adam was running on both his schools? Jim is involved in the West Coast Honda-Challenge, and I believe there is no class for forced induction. Just the hybrid class and there are some strict rules in their. Road Racing and competing is very expensive. a full scca cage is required.
The schools are expensive, but the fun factor over weighs it. Its 10 times what the thrill of drag racing is, and you learn lots of great driving skills. If I can afford it, I will go to every event this year.

heh, it turns pretty good, it has polyueorthen bushings (bah i'm a terrible speller)
it has really tight sway bars too. just gotta drift and almost crash around every corner. but i'd be ok
i'd be out cornered but never out accelerated :P
it will turn better than any honda if i bought one of those chassisworks g-machine camaro front ends. with huge 4 wheel corvette disc brakes. but they're damn expensive
tonight i got the front of my crx ready to hold intercooler.
i could never get the bumper off. it was dark and raining and the garage is full so i was under the overhang. i think i had to un bolt the two bar things that hold the bumper on or something. pain in the *** :P
but i cut up the grilling in the front really nice, its going to look sweet with the conquest intercooler in there.
i got raped on my manifold/turbo adapter plate construction, but its really nice. has studs with alan wrench holes in them and it goes from circle to rectangle (manifold to t3 turbo). it'll flow a lot better and won't get so hot. only thing is the daytona bolt pattern is wierd but i got around it.
cost me 125 dollars just for the plate. damn union metal shop workers and their 50 dollar and hour rates.

Honda challenge does not have a class that allows turbo charged cars. It has a class called H1 that is for Hybrids, although it is still a little restrictive. The bottom end must be assembled from stock Honda parts only, so you could use a motor from an NSX if you wanted to (no matter how uncompetitive it may be). The cylinder head is open to any mods, but the intake manifold must again be honda.
I will be racing in a class next year in the northwest which is SPU, and does allow turbos. It is a catch all class for bastardized cars like hybrids like mine and many import racers.
That Camaro is way too nice to take the track to race, although it could be fun to go lapping in. Hate to see it get balled up. I have seen some nice old maros and novas at drivers schools.
Road racing is not cheap, and many of the club racers spend around $10K a year on racing, although many do it for $5K too.
