DVD might look great, but put two of the same tv next to each other and play the same movie on DVD and an HD format. The difference is big. |

Yea I'm talking closer than 10 feet. The difference isn't that big on mine, I've watched HD and normal DVDs. Now for TV broadcasts, HD is where it's at.

I remember watching the superbowl in hd, then flipping back to the analog channel to compare. BLEH |

I have a 50" rear lcd projection(1080p). With the up converter they look decent but there is a lot of rainbowing with colors in dark scene and some pixelations. My mac up converts as well when i watch h.264 and avi and it still not that great. I have a couple of HD movies in .mkv formarts which are either 720p or 1080i and it looks great! Cant wait to get my self a ps3 to use the bluray player. It is said that for the holidays a 40gb model with spiderman 3 is going to be released for $400.

The shitty part about seeing ---- in HD is once I got my HD TV watching low-def quality ---- sucks ass.
Like watching color tv vs. black and white for me. :X |

I use ripit4me also which makes it pretty easy. For me its a whole day process though, I usually start it running when I go to bed. Then set it to shrink when I get up, then set it burning when I come home for work. :(
Mabye if I get a DVD player to go along with my DVD burner it will be faster (2 drive setup)? |

i have a SXRD 50a2000 i believe. Its like a DLP, ut the picture is made by an LCD and light expands the picture. While a DLP makes the imade through a color wheel and the mirrors.
