well i picked up a set of 99-00 si rims yesterday. now im on the hunt for tires. i took a look at tirerack.com and im stuck between two different sets. i like the sumitomo's because i also have a set of them on my mazda. good griping tires. now i also took a look at some kumho's that look nice to me. heres the list of specs on both. lmk if you guys have had these before and how you felt about them.

I rock the Kum Ho's on acura Tl and they seem to be a good tire for the price.

Cheap!!

Have them on my turbo corvair , HTZ-R's (I think) I bought them due to the 166 tread wear rating..they are sticky..and for $67 u can't go wrong

tried a set of Fuzions on a legacy I had... not so good 9the other cheap tire)

I like RT-615s and Hankook RS-2s, the best price I've found for RT-615s is a company called 88rotor, $340 for 4 205/50/15. BTW your comparo has been stopped due to security issues. I've tried two different types of Kumho summer tires and they both suck ass, I can burn all the way through first w/ ~140whp.

I had a set of kumho's and I felt they were the worse tire I ever owned.

i have these DZ101 tires on my si wheels, they're pretty good, especially since i snagged them back when they were 45 a tire, looks like now they're 60 each. I like thm, i'd recommend them. Good grip, and very predictable.

falken ziex se-512's ftw for cheapness. but if you dont care about how mcuh you spend falken azenis 615's

kumho's are a never in my book ever again. witnessed the tread separate for the rest of the tire on my dad's car driving behind my dad on the freeway.

I like falken ziex 512's, but there is a new version out that I like even better Ziex 912

I have ES100 on my benz, they're cool. Not the best, but great for the dollar.

I have Azenis on the Honda, I hate them. Sure grips nice, but in 2 months of driving the fronts are worn down to the markers.

I also like Nitto NT555, had those on my benz before the ES100's.


So of your 2 choices I would go with sumi's.

I have Falken Ziex-912's I use in the winter and they're great. They are a "performance all-season" categorized tire, they work very well in the summer too. I use Azeni RT-615s in the summer.

i know what ur talkn about, but ---- les schwabbs, to honest. if toyo's were cheaper, i'd use them. but alas, im stuck with the ohtsu's. zexius 925's, idk they're alright, pretty sticky and decent traction in the rain
