Of course the tune is important, but a good tune can only get you so far.

Interesting how shape of the the power output between 7 and 15 psi is exactly the same but at a greater slope. That doesn't happen in the real world, no turbo engine is that repeatable. Cute how the engine is so well tuned and is going to last for ------- ever, but you have the same idnetical spike in the graph between 7 and 15 psi. The graph that is fake as hell, that is. |

Re: right hand drive 35r monster
o yea i forgot to tell you that we pulled up my buddys dyno sheet with his build b18 block with pistons and rods with a type r head and after vtec i believe my lil b16 make 5 more whp but only made 3 less tq....... with that kinda power he went 11.0's on slicks and well if you reallly think of it my car is a good 4 500 ibs lighter so therefore thats atleast 4 tens of a sec faster ;)
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS |

no i will tell them but i had to prove the haters wrong first........... just thought there was no way i was goin to make 400 whp hahahaha just all you haters was wrong ;D |
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
have fun with that when it blows up in 2 weeks
|
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
Not bad but you're 43whp short of what you said you'd do and I thought it was acutally 500whp you were going for...none the less dyno sheet is probably legit and good numbers.
The hundred pound = 1/10sec is a myth BTW. Stock rod bearings? Rod bolts aren't stock bottom end. Think about it, they won't stretch and will make it harder to spin a rod bearing aftermarket or stock. At 9200rpm though I feel spun rod bearing, then again bolts may keep them clamped and the rod melts. EDIT: What's up with the gap at 6500rpm? JP |
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
go to the drag strip and post a video

JP BTW, the "weight-to-time" myth has always seemed to prove itself right to me in the past. Explain why you think at 9200rpm it will spin a rod bearing? Stock block in my opinion is stock block/stock rods/stock pistons/stock sleeves. |
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
Stock block is nothings touched on the bottom end...
BTW, Vids or those two races didn't happen :P |

Re: right hand drive 35r monster
Untouched as in, no aftermarket rods/pistons/whatever. I didn't mean a preventative rebuild was out of the question.
|
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
Rod bolts stretch when then get hot and start spinning as fast as a angle grinder; that's why they spin. Old worn out junk Honda bearings around a stock journaled crankshaft from a 1996 car is another reason to spin them. The list goes on of reasons why they can spin.
You've minimized that with grade 8 or > rod bolts AND by throwing in King rod bearings.........no longer as easy to spin and applicable measure to take on most common built set-ups. The piston wiggling in a loose sleeve and adding stress to the walls is reduced by the block guard at the top of the sleeves to help with wall fluctuation at high rpm/whp applications. Something lots of people don't bother with even on built set-ups......my OEM blockguard must have been removed because it isn't in there on my stock block. Show me the math/physics of weight to power ratio with identical runs. Myth busted. It isn't standard for any car. 100lbs to a dump trunk is 10lbs to a Honda. Get it? Not a set in stone type of calculation. Keep things interesting? So you stopped.....that makes no sense. Go 20psi and get your 450whp to make things interesting. Why the gap at 6500rpm? JP |
Re: right hand drive 35r monster
Floyd, why are you being such an ass. People here have physically seen stock b's at a lower power level than that, bend rods from stress with absolutely no detonation.
