Ridin Dirty
 

Last night I picked up my first bike: a 2000 zx6r. It currently does not run as the previous owner left gas in the tank from last summer with no stabilizer. So I am venturing a guess that the carbs are all gunked up.

dan, i would venture to say it might be a bit more than the carbs, does it turn over? do a compression test?

Bikes are like that. My 01 suzuki600 wouldnt start for ---- when i left the gas in it all winter.

try starter fluid, if it runs your ok, if not get a rope and i hope you are good with a wrench

yea sir, best part is a few weeks ago me and my friend were riding my xr100 and asked dan if he wanted to, suprisingly enough it was his first time ever riding a bike and we had to give him a lesson, im sure he will be able to handle a 600cc bike ::)

gas today doesnt go bad dude. My hatch sat for well over a year charged the battery and drove it

Gas will go bad after a winter.......................... Thats why you have to put fuel stabilizer in boats when you winterize them. your cars fuel injected. it doesnt have needle valves and floats to varnish up. Im sure if he blew some air through the carbs cleaned the varnish off of them and set the float hight it would run fine. Ive had to do this to many atv's people have let sit and a ton of boats when they came in to be summerized.
