returned from dyno day at batlground
just got back from a dyno day and my little ole d16y7 put out 168whp and 160wtq...and that was on my second and last run. this was at 11.0 afr and with my tiny 2" tall 3" dia k&n filter. i figure if i can get my turbo inlet and filter larger and bump my fuel pressure down or go back to my stock intank pump i can get my afr back to 12.0-12.5 and be good for 175-180whp.
no i've got another project.
i thought i'd be done after i installed the y8 mannifold and tranny, but the y8 tranny was yanked because 2nd and 3rd were shot. today's run was on the y7 tranny...long a##, slow gears.
therefore, new project is rebuild the y8 tranny and figure a way to fit a larger compressor inlet and filter.

Re:returned from dyno day at batlground
when you dyno, why dont you just dyno with no filter on? i mean its not like you need it for the passes inside a building doing a run!? just for the streets where those rocks, pebbles, and other ---- wont go in the turbo...

Re:returned from dyno day at batlground
wanted to get a realistic number in daily trim. i did run 12psi daily for a little while and i was tempted to up the boost to 12 to see what i got, but i was too lazy to adjust my mbc and i've decided to get a little off the raged edge and move to 10psi daily until i can get better rods and pistons.
