Re: removing the tar
Typically, if there's a lot, you can cut it out or use some type of scraper. For everything else, get some aircraft stripper (ZipStrip), or get a product called Ready-Strip (made by a company called Back-to-Nature). The Ready-strip comes in a few different strengths (you should be good with the lowest), but it is non-toxic and has no smell so you don't passout from the fumes. A little more expensive tho, but not by much.

Re: removing the tar
air chisel worked like magic in my Z and in my hatch I just used a hammer and a plain ol' chisel and it came out in huge chunks and wasn't that hard as I thought it would of been.

Re: removing the tar
Just get a big ball peen hammer and start beating the ----, it comes right up. I wouldnt waste your time though, just slap the dynomat right over that ----.

Re: removing the tar
I spilled a whole buncha oil in my trunk, so i had to scrape off a lot of that ----. A screwdriver combined with my arm got it off pretty easy. I'd imagine a hammer would work alot better. I dont think its worth the hassle to locate the dry ice b/c the time it would take to drive to get it, you'd have half the floor done in a puny rex.
