https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=21941 you know that i have a problem with ------- thieves in my area. anyways, in addition to a whole lot of other ---- im doing right now, i want to get a removable steering wheel for my crx. however, i dont know much about steering wheels or what exactly the hell i need to get. i found some stuff on ebay, but i dont know if the stuff will fit on my crx. if you guys could look at the stuff and tell me if it will fit that would be cool and ill buy the ----. here are the links: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33704 remember, i dont really give a ---- about looks, i just want something cheap that i will to be able to remove when i park my car. if that stuff is not what i need, can anybody post links up of what i do need, and possibly where to buy it? thanks. |
Re:removable steering wheel
Well, I personally love the black Grant steering wheels, I'd go with one of those. Unless that popper seconds as an adapter (I'm too lazy to look) then you'll need an adapter as well to fit your steering wheel onto the steering column. Also, borrow a friends steering wheel popper to take it off, believe me, a crow bar and hammer doesnt work ;)

Re:removable steering wheel
if you wanna be a cheap ass, just pull off your horn button, buy a castlenut to fit the steering shaft and drill a hole throught the sterring shaft. THen just screw on the castle nut and stick a hood pin through the hole to hold it on. To remove just yank out the pin and remove the nut.

Re:removable steering wheel
take your sparkplugs out. I doubt ANY thief is gonna bring a spark plug socket and some extra plugs....
|
Re:removable steering wheel
i once saw a vid of a guy driving down the street and he took his steering wheel off and was waving it around out his window.... :o

Re:removable steering wheel
I would still videotape them, that way you'll be able to find a pattern to their times or something and you'll atleast have evidence if/when they get caught.

Re:removable steering wheel
Be careful if you do get a removable steering wheel. You don't want the wheel to be stolen. Then YOU are fucked.

Re:removable steering wheel
Has anybody tried to break that AutoLock thing that goes to the clutch or brake pedal? I heard that is a lot harder to break compared to that Club shiet. And you don't have to pay a lot for a LowJack unless your $500 CRX has $10k worth of mods in it or some shiet like that...

Re:removable steering wheel
Pinoy, if you find a $500 CRX tell me bro, I want one bad.. I miss mine bad :(
