reliable B17
This may seem like a big question, but in comparison to other Honda/Acura engines, how "quality" are the B17 engines in the 92-93 Teg GSR's? I have a 94 Civic right now, and I wonder if it would be a small step down in reliability since the B17's aren't nearly as common as B18's. I hear you guys talk smack on the old 2.0 Prelude motors so much, makes me wonder if these are just as bad (bad by honda standards, anyways)

Re:reliable B17
I almost got one of those from a friend, but my honda dealership friend said that it would be too much headache to try in a civic. Something about the tranny/axles or some ---- not fitting. ???

Re:reliable B17
B17 is the exact same thing as a B16 just a different crank. They are just fine..

Re:reliable B17
so would it be safe to say that the B17 is better than a regular B16?? say for a obd1?

Re:reliable B17
I thought the difference was only like 1 or 2 lbs/trq over the b16.

Re:reliable B17
92-93 is not old, considering all 1g B16's are 89-91. Unless it has over 150k miles I really wouldnt worry about it. The usdm B17a and the JDM B16a 1g both produce 160hp, only difference is the 6lb ft's more torque the B17 has.

B17's are so cool, cuz they are so rare!! i like being different! Everybody will think "oh its a B16 or maybe a B18, not too many people even know of the B17! I likes ;D
