Default REENLISTING

I got out of the army in march this year after serving for 8 years as a tracked vehicle mechanic.
I thought I would forget it and get out and never look back, but I missed it so.

I called the reserve recruiter and I will be reenlisting as a reserve light wheeled vehicle mechanic. I said if I ever get back in I will do 20, so 2o here I come 8 years active, and 12 years reserve, retire and collect a big check, plus I can get a 15000 bonus for wheeled vehicle mechanic, I am already trained so all I have to do is signed the contract.
should I continue to serve?

I don't think we can make that call for you. Thats a life choice you have to make bro. If it was me i wish i would have served but i got married and things never just turned out. Most of my family has and a few of them were long term they have said they have no regrets. Best of luck to you. I think whatever you choice you will be happy with it.

If its your thing. You never lived normal life for any real period of time, nor did you ever have a baller job, so if you do not have the motivation or the need to do something exciting with your life, continue working on dune buggy's and then collect check.

I would want to at least try doing something for myslef before signig my life away.

I dont know man technically I dont know anything else but army. its my life. I tried to do the civilian thing, but it aint me. the freedom is great, the money is great, and the time I get to spend at home, is super great, but a part of me is missing without being a soldier, and when I was in I could not wait to get out, but now I am out, its not the same. I got married while I was still in I met my wife here so she knows its a part of me.

but the reserve is nothing but a weekend soldier so its no big deal, until bush activates us to fight, but normally its one weekend a month, while keeping you civilian job. but if war calls you have to get activated.

DUDE.. if your doing it for the money.. dont do it.. because you can get any other job..

but if your doing it cause u actually miss it/want to serve your country.. then go for it...

also.. what does your wife think of it? dont you have kids??

before.. i assume u didnt have kids.. but now you do.. so you might want to think about them before you go...

I say go for it if you miss it. It's more of a secure job knowing it's gonna be there unlike a civilian job and you only have 12 more years till you can retire. I say do it since you've almost got it half done and if you enjoy it then those 12 years won't be bad if you miss it this much. And knowing is half the battle! YO JOE!

My buddy re-enlisted in the Marines to be in the infantry and he is now in Maryland waiting to see if doctors can re-attach his leg.
RPG in Iraq changed his life forever.

I aint doing it for the money. yes I have 2 kids, my wife dont mind.
I dont think I can fit in in the civilian world, I speak different, I dress different, and operate different, after I got out I tried to grow a beard, but I could not keep it I shaved it off, I tried to grow dreadlocks, but I could not because I am used to a high and tight. I just dont fit in, I wake up too early, always calling everyone sarge, my boss sir, he dont like it. I feel out of place. so I am army.
