Let me guess, you are in or past your mid 20s and that bumblebee tuna exhaust isn't the image or driving experience you care for. :P

You, sir, need to go back to a stock size muffler and one of Hi-Profile's DIY world's fastest e-cutouts. Or just use a $25 LS1 TB with a $7 T3 wastegate actuator so it comes open under boost.

Yeah, i don't like loud ---- or anything flashy. I try to preserve the miatas cute gay image as much as possible. I may indeed try putting the stock muffler on and a cutout. Would be perfect for me really. And cheap too. What size are LS1 TB's? I like the idea of a 7 dollar wastegate controlling the TB. That would be sick.

They come in a variety of sizes you can order from the factory, but 70mm is common which is right at 3". Mine was $33 after shipping on ebay. The wastegate actuator was about $11 after shipping from our very own Boosted_Stinkynuts. Good stuff.

Had another idea while thinking about all this. Rather than reference the wastegate to intake manifold pressure, I could reference to pressure before the muffler. So whenever the muffler is causing a few PSI restriction, the waste gate opens the TB. But on second thoughts that wastegate might not handles the heat all too well. But I could deal with that in some way. Dunno, but this cutout/wastegate combination is probably my best bet in one form or another.

I run a Moroso spiral flow on my car. I have a 2.5" downpipe, with 3" piping back from there, no resonator, no cat. The muffler is 3" in and 3" out. My car isn't EXTREMELY loud IMO, except at WOT but that is mostly because of the open dump wastegate. I always tell ppl if it's too loud, you're too old....but I HATE raspy sounding fart cans as well, so I see where you're coming from.

I've got straight 3" pipe off my turbo straight back to a 3" thrush

loud as ---- outside, sounds great, not too loud inside very low

not recommended if you need "the quietest"

get that 20 dollar summit racing turbo muffler. I have that on my vitara setup with 3 inch crush piping no cat, or resonator and still made 280whp on 15psi. Didnt hurt power at all. Pretty damn quiet too.

In the last 7 years exactly zero people have purchased one because it isn't a chrome ricecannon with a 5" tip.

Yes the ultraflo is tight ---- jd. My brother passed the sound checks at laguna seca with one on his turbo starlet

I bought one to replace the tractor muffler on my csx but never put it on, the tractor muffler was a bad idea, it makes turbo dodges sound just like tractors which was uber gay, wish I would have put on the ultraflo before I sold the car so I could have heard it.

Your car will queit down a little bit once the turbo is installed I'd wait to change the exhaust until after you turbo it, or look for a mazdaspeed miata muffler.
