Reckless Driving

Yeah Pretty shitty on my way home from watching Jackass 2 driving down a 50MPH road. Car in front of me is doing under the speed limit no other traffic ok sweet time for a ripper :l After taking it too about the limiter in 4th I get back into my lane and notice the red and blue. So i pull over ASAP Cop gets out of her car tells me to get out of my car puts me in cuffs and in back of her cop car :-X So after all the BS she lets me go and now i have a court date. First speeding ticket in over 2 years :'(

------- shitty Steve. Thats gonna be some $$$.
What road were you on?
Did she clock you? Or did you just blow the ---- past her?

AgentMurdoc 10-07-2006 03:53 AM

Re: Reckless Driving

so what mph did she "clock" you at?

leed 10-07-2006 04:04 AM

Re: Reckless Driving

Assuming she clocked him the whole time, and the fact that Steve usually pulls 4th to the limiter, Im gonna guess 120ish?

His revlimit is at 7400. (LS tranny)
Atleast you're not still on the 8000rpm 'dont have to hit 5th in 1/4' limiter O0

AgentMurdoc 10-07-2006 04:16 AM

Re: Reckless Driving

i was more curious as to the speed the officer jotted down on the ticket. It's more than likely that she didn't put 120mph, cause that's a big fat no no. I'm assuming maybe 80

Re: Reckless Driving

The cop never said how fast I was going and on my ticket all it says is reckless driving no MPH. She was behind me a few cars and i didnt see her. Theirs also no $$ fine just a court date.

when i had my old car with hydraulics i got a wreckless driving for gas hopping it down the road :-[. all i seen was the road then it went up and i seen streeetlights, road, streetlights, road and cop, streetlights, road and cop with the red and blues. LMAO, when he walked up to the window he said "boy are you dumb?" hahaha. a friend of mine has most of it on video from the passenger seat.

Re: Reckless Driving

try to get a deferrment steve. since you havent got a ticket in a while, see if the judge will defer it. If you can go a year without a ticket, they drop it. If you get another ticket, you end up having to pay it.

Re: Reckless Driving

I'm on an SR-22 from a couple years back i got tagged without insurance. I was unemployed back then so I didn't have it.

SR-22 on no insurance isn't really anything though. I pay the normal insurance rate that I paid before, with a $15 per 6 months surcharge for sr22 filing.

if you get it for a reckless or dui tho, it gets expensive.

90dx 10-07-2006 03:19 PM

Re: Reckless Driving

Def try and fight it.What is "SR-22" ???

Its a DMV document that must be filed when ordered by the court. It is a "proof of financial responsibility" form. Anytime you get a violation of more seriousness, like reckless, dui, or uninsured, a court will order you to file an sr-22. You have to do it for 3 years. If you dont...suspension.

Re: Reckless Driving

So I was talking this over w/ the resident 'traffic infraction' guy at work, and he says there is a local lawyer that is super shady, good, and has decent rates. Pretty sure the guy works for a flat rate on this type of ticket. Considering there is no 'paced' or 'clocked' at MPH on your ticket, it would deff. be worth a call to the guy. Even if it costs you the same or more in lawyer fee's as the ticket, you could end up w/ no SR22 filing, a clean record and sticking it to the man. :)

I'd google the RCW# on the ticket, and see what the max $$$ fine is on it.

Re: Reckless Driving

Indeed, a very very good local guy who will guarentee getting your ticket dropped completely, pretty much worth the 3-400 dollars whatever fee it is. His name is Mitch Green, he already dropped 2 tickets for the owners son at our work, He got a speeding ticket in a 350z 20+mph got that dropped and he also got a reckless driving ticket in the turbo kia. worth a shot!

It means that the cop doesn't have anything except the opinion old boy was travelling at a speed or in a manner that was reckless. Depending on how your local court system is structured you can claim not guilty and everything will get dropped for being a pointless drain on the court's time with no hard evidence to prove anything. Then again, in some areas (you are awful close to KKKalifornia) you get fucked for protesting tickets even when you have proof.

This kid I know had 12 points on his license and it was suspended. He was still driving and got pulled over last night for failure to signal during a lane change and they hit him with a D.U.S. Ha, cop told him DUS was 6 pts and the improper lane change was 2 pts. I told him last night he was fucked and he better get the local "pay big money get no points" traffic lawyer. I had to use one myself once, def worth the money.

Re: Reckless Driving

its amazing everytime i get a ticket i switch insurance companys and it either stays the same price or i get it cheaper. the last time i switched i got it about 50-40$ cheaper. it went from 160 to about 110. i got my insurance the day the court lowered my eluding the police to wreckless driving and obsturcting a officer. not sure if its because i now have broadband insurance or what but the company was cheaper then my last one. the thing is to find a local insurance company that does a search threw a lot of companies and one that you can get to like you. my last insurance lady was always hooking me up i felt bad leaving her for a cheaper one.
