I have a racing seat by a company called racespeX, it is a german company, pretty reputable by me, i've had this seat for nearly 2 years and it takes a beating, no tears yet, mine is the non reclinable bucket in red, its a pretty high grade suade, pretty thick stuff. the only thing I noticed is the plastic inserts where your seatbelts go through like to go loose and fall in 2, all you have to do is super glue them together.

Here is the website that shows what they look like.

Re: reccomend a seat

Non reclinable sparco's are really the only quality "cheap" seats there are. Maybe look into stock seats out of a different car. I know the WRX seats are nice.
I think I'm gonna get the Corbeau Forza's, but I don't think they'll be all that comfy.

I have a Sparco Speed, LOVE IT!!

I also had some Recaro's out of a Susuki Swift GT. Not back but there where still designed for a stock car so fairly comfortable. I have 1 still in the car (passenger)

^def some prelude seats, even the older 88 style are comfortable!! they hold you pretty good, and sorta match the crxs interior. the 92s are very nice too, not sure if they directly bolt up??

Fook, I don't shop retail. 8)

I'm gonna need a close up of the material. Even cheap seats look good from 5 ft away. It's the super thin cloth bullshit that I hate. They passed the 5ft test though. ;)

I just realized that those are Yonaka seats, and my good friend Craig at TunerToys.com is a dealer. Wowzers :)

Re: reccomend a seat

no offense, but one thing i don't trust replica are seats and seat belts. i'd rather have a cheapy sprint seat.

Sabelt has some pretty pimp seats for around 400 bucks, I was going to go with them but right now Recaro will be making me a custom Speed for 850...until then I need to find some DC seats!

Re: reccomend a seat

I also have a sparco speed, I love it. I've done 4 hour trips in it and no troubles, and it's awesome on the track.

Re: reccomend a seat

Buddy clubs only if your not rocking anything above a 34 waistsize otherwise look at a something else. These fuckers make a delsol or crx seats feel like your sitting on 79' ford f150 bench seat. 300 apiece. You only need one cause your passenger doesn't drive, do they?

Pfft starion seats cant compared to Celica GTS/1st Gen Supra seats, they are also a million way adjustable and cheap and easy as ---- to find, go to any of your local junkyards and they should have a pair for less than 50 :X.

Re: reccomend a seat

i recently got some "bomz racing" set for $200 brand new picked up :) there not that comfy but its beats just having one ripped seat.

bolt a ------- lawnchair in that bitch, and put some of that astro turf down for carpet.

MikeJ-2009 04-13-2005 02:20 PM

Re: reccomend a seat

No harm, Craig doesn't even advertise those.

I hate seat decisions. What I really want are sparco fighters, but I don't think I can justify that amount. :-\

Re: reccomend a seat

I'd like to get a some Corbeau Forzas ... fairly inexpensive and very comfy...

I can't justify going out and buying some though when my stockers are in good shape... maybe in a few years or when I start making some more money...

I'm in MN. I don't deal with yonaka.

anyway, I sat in some recaro's today that looked just like that (I don't know what the name was) and they were comfy as ----. I think that's the route I'll go or something.

I want some Recaro EK9 seats. Look great, and comfortable as heck ;D

Although, I will state the obvious. you have old Si seats, why not buy new ones? If you're looking to spend $400, I sold my set for $165, and thats not too bad ;)
